Kicks on 66.
Oh, that comercial is scary. I along with my parents and brother "imigrated" to Calif. in 1952. We traveled with our 26' Pan American trailer filled with what we could as we were not returning to Michigan. I was 14 so I have vivid memories of that adventure. Now the 'scary' part is now we (wife and I) have a '66 Tradewind and our tow vehicle is a classic red convertible with a red top! Is this a look into our future?

I live in Chandler, Oklahoma, in a house where I can see Route 66 from my yard. I don't know whose AS that is, but I think it's cool no matter what year. My Argosy will spend the winter overlooking Route 66 when I bring him home from the lake. Neat stuff.

Another Route 66 treasure is Seligman, AZ. There's an Airstream at the east end of town and another in Frank's back yard on the north side of the main drag in the east part of town, not to mention the 1930s teardrop. It's a fascinating stop if he's home.
 
the lettering is an applique'. Frank would never paint an AS!
By the way, check out all his "buzz" websites. Just the name of an Arizona city and buzz, as in Phoenixbuzz.com. You can post photos, etc., to highlight attractions in the cities you like. Gee, maybe the 4-corners rally folks could think of something......

Neil - pictures would be good of your trailer/car. Love to see vintage trailers being towed by vintage cars. It sounds like you may be destined for another trip down the mother road.
Skinnyfish - thanks for sharing. Our family travelled a big chunk of Rte 66 in '57 after we performed at the Grand Ole Opry - my father then took the family on a tour of the other States for several weeks and then back home to Edmonton, AB, Canada. A trip I still remember fondly. Four kids, my mom's mom, both parents, all our gear including guitars, rammed into and onto a 1957 Plymouth stationwagon. We must have been quite a site coming down the highway.

Ah, great. My son is visiting from his Navy leave. He is my computer wiz so he demonstrated to me how to resize this photo to fit here. Anyway this was taken just a few weeks ago. My wife and I are both RECOVERING from health issues so this was our first trip with the Tradewind. We can tell you that Airstreams are what 'the doctor ordered'. Very theraputic. We have accelerated our recovery.

Wow, beautiful set up Neil and quite the attention getter at campgrounds and going down the road I'll bet. And glad to hear you are both on the mend. I'm in the same situation and know for me the Airstream has been a much needed distraction.
