Gallo uses an Airstream

I must admit that I, too, use my Airstream to promote my clients' wines, but I don't travel with faded television stars. Maybe, if Foster Brooks was still alive...

I'm not sure how faded Ms. Dewitt is. After all, Susanne Summers was an even bigger star on the show and after, yet she was one of the headliners at "The Rally" a couple of years ago. I thought that kind of meant that her star had faded a little since being one of the highest paid actresses of the '70's. But then again, I'm a boomer and had never heard of Livingston Cellars Wine. Gallo yes, Livingston...maybe and just forgot like so many of the vast array of products that I don't buy.

Wine Crush Host Slams Airstream

I was listening to Laura Lawson on AM radio (Wine Crush). She did a segment on Joyce Dewitt and Gallo using the Airstream in their promotion of Livingston Cellars wine. Lawson mentioned Gallo's choice of Airstream as "a symbol of America". She sneered at Gallo's audacity to assume anyone would consider an "RV' as a symbol of America.

I sent her many links about the great American story that is Airstream, and let her know that I was not interested in listening to an elitist wine snob looking down her nose at me.

If anyone knows the right PR folks at Airstream or Gallo, they may want to send them the links below.

Lawson's pomposity can be found at just about the middle of the following recording: http://www.winecrush.com/audio/winecrush_042909.mp3

Or at her website:

Ironically, we were on our way back from a winery trip in Northern Virginia with a case of fine reds and whites aboard the Safari.
