Just received my February copy of Trailer Life Mag and low and behold the front cover has a "American Beauty Airstream International" with a Lincoln Mark LT towing it.
Even though I'm a hardcore Dodge man the article is ab out "combining an Airstream with a Lincoln Pickup is about as Red, White and Blue as an Rver can get!"
The Airstream is a International 23 footer and the mag gives it it's fair share of info to the reader.
Anyway, I thought you guys would might be interested.
Take care and Happy New Year to all.....

Rick,
Your new name: Mr Dodge
As for the article, it didn't read as though they cared for the Lincoln....just my interpretation. Did you notice Airstreams full page color advertisement...I think the editorial staff got a bit of a "nudge" from the ad dept., what do you think?

Hi, to be fair, in the article he had as many complaints about the Airstream as he did the Lincoln. And for the record Ford did not build the 101 FWY, his biggest complaint. My combo doesn't ride that well on the 101 either and I doubt that anyone elses does.

The feature article was nice, but I really liked the Aistream full page ad. It features a vintage Airstream as the backdrop with a number of Airstream Factory employees in the foreground. They obviously did not hire actors to pose as employees as I recognize the guy who installed Lucy's new Fantastic Fan on my Factory visit in October.
I think that this ad is significant. I have never seen another RV manufacturer show any of their blue collar employees in a national magazine ad much less feature one of their fifty year old travel trailers.
I think that this is a very smart ad that will cause many more potential RV buyers to think Airstream. This, coupled with the new Safari Sport offerings, will bring many new people to the ranks of the streamers and to these Forums.

I read the article and was very surprised at the many criticisms of both the trailer and the TV. TL articles are usually a little more "fluffy". When testing some poorly made piece of junk, they never just come out and say it. But they do criticize the Airstream, though.
Maybe this is the start of a new honestness of TL reviews. I doubt it.
I've noticed with TrailerLife (and other magazines) that whenever a product is featured, there is usually a full page ad for the product/manufacturer accompanying.
Did you ever notice that Ford is always featured on their towing guide?

They did not give Airstream too good a rating on the layout of the interior and conflict with john door that caused him to get hit in the shins everytime the kids used the john. The did said the bed was not big enough for two full zize people becuase one side was short. I noticed the same thing. He did admire the outside appearence of the rig and the attention it got from the other campers.
...bottom line is Airstream is the Cadillac of trailers. If you have a magazine called Trailer Life the best trailer on the market has to make the cover at least once a year.
folks - before we bought our first Airstream five years ago, a '78 Excella 500. before we bought it we looked at new trailers at the RV show room. I'm here to tell you they were all junk. no lie, i was on the showroom floor, in a new trailer that was going for $17k, and the drawer from in the galley fell off in my hands when i tried to pull it out.
i said to my honey, "we're outa here". i went to ebay and bought my '78. guess what, not one drawer fell off in my hands in the 25+ year old ‘78, and when i sold it to by my '64… i got every penny i put into it back, minus my sweat.

Yup, that's why we bought our new Safari, no stinken drawers.
Hi, how do you like the picture of my white Lincoln towing my silver Airstream on the cover of "Trailer Life"? Well it's pretty close and my wife said we did it first.
