There's a trend in the RV industry that bigger is better. That trend is driven by the typical American consumer. The author was writing his review in the mindset of the typical american consumer who wanted more more more. He had no appreciation for the fact that the 23 foot International had all the ammenities of the typical 28 foot SOB, yet it was in a compact, light, efficient and tasteful package. With the price of gas getting higher by the day, I expect to see more Americans snap out of it and start appreciating what Airstream does best - efficient use of space.
I am envious of you Lincoln/Airstream guys. I think I will wait for the 09 Ford Platimun edition....aahhh....now theres a Ford that might even one up the Lincoln interior.
ROBERTSUNRUS...it is a close call for conver photo...but I give you my nod cause of the background orchard. But I love Black....damn...choices choices. but you and Silvercabin have the cover of Trailer Life beat...hands down.
Yes, doesn't a Lincoln and an Airstream look great.

Wkerfoot...but they don't make ships like that anymore. Them ol Lincolns were a real comfy ride. smooooooooooth and efforless. And they could tow too. What year is it? Looks like 70's something? Does it have the 460 or 429?..
Hi, to be fair, in the article he had as many complaints about the Airstream as he did the Lincoln. And for the record Ford did not build the 101 FWY, his biggest complaint. My combo doesn't ride that well on the 101 either and I doubt that anyone elses does.
I read the article and was very surprised at the many criticisms of both the trailer and the TV. TL articles are usually a little more "fluffy". When testing some poorly made piece of junk, they never just come out and say it. But they do criticize the Airstream, though.
Maybe this is the start of a new honestness of TL reviews. I doubt it.

Hi, wkerfoot. Yes it does look great; And brings back memories of when I was a mechanic at Murphy Lincoln, Mercury [in Long Beach] and worked on Town Cars just like yours. I wonder how many more people on this forum have Lincolns towing their Airstreams.
I agree that the article was very critical of the Airstream, particularly in light of some of the other reviews of SOBs. They pretty much said that the 'Stream is not worth the $.

Hi, Dave. On our way home from Oregon my wife saw this shortcut on the map, near the California border. We took the short cut with our, then, brand new trailer down a very narrow winding road. This narrow winding road went on almost forever and we had no idea when it was going to take us to civilization. All of a sudden we ended up in the middle of a wine/grape vineyard. We thought it was really neat there so we stopped to take a break and take some pictures; I, to this day don't remember where it was or how we got there.
