What we decided was, we had to do some kind of archaeology, stripping it down and getting rid of all the gewgaws and clunky interior, and taking it back to something really essential. I simplified it and emphasized the horizontal lines and put in a lot of fluid, curved laminates. We took that trailer to the International Contemporary Furniture Fair in New York, and we got the attention of an Airstream executive.

I have read many other articles about C.C. Deam's designs and he more or less always repeats this quote. Which is unfortunate.
I like the Look that he seems to find unappealing.

It's all a matter of taste. Since I have a 28' CCD - 2012 version - with the ultra leather, I guess I'm biased. I special ordered mine after seeing a similar model at my dealer's. I looked at all the other current models/options as well, but the openness and clean look sold me. Then after visiting the factory last fall -- and seeing so many variations, I only confirmed how right this model was -- for me. It's like anything -- people are different and resonate to individual preferences.

Well...my two sons (21 and 25) and I had the unique opportunity to drive from Florida to California (hey, they have SURF too!) last May: 11,000 miles in eight weeks. My surfer sons are gnarley, dirty and boys! A little Windex and cold-water Tide cleaned it all up. We had a GREAT time!

Even though the interior of our Ocean Breeze is light, I recognize it is supposed to get dirty and it is very easy to clean up. LOVE my Airstream!

Wish I could see the Sterling in person. At first glance of the photos, didn't think I liked it but, it's growing on me. I posted it on my blog b/c I think it's a beautiful, clean and sleek design. I too love seeing any news on Airstreams. And I love photos!!! Happy Friday everyone!
