Airstream on television Sunday the 17th.

Velocity (partner to discovery channel), on Inside West Coast Customs will customize an Airstream. 9pm ET. The description in the guide reads-

When Skype call on WCC to create a Skype lounge, great things happen. Watch as Ryan and the boys get out the can opener to turn an ordinary Airstream into "Skype-Stream."

Just got thru watching the show. Almost broke my heart to see a trailer in such great condition being chopped apart. They did an excellant job with the conversion considering the amount of fab required and the short time frame.

At least it was a "newer" AS and not a vintage one. I did enjoy the show, very entertaining.

Well, Ryan, the owner of WCC did call the trailer "vintage." Looked new to me. I keep wondering how long those doors/decks will last? It is a shame to lose the monocoque design.

I also heard the guy who was put in charge of the project say the skin was flimsy, when they demo'ed the sides for the drop-down doors. Hello! Monocoque! At least Skype was footing the bill. And, they had experts on hand for building every system. And, it never rains in Southern California. LOL ;^0

I wounder how long the subfloor on that 2008 will last since they didn't do anything to seal it. At least they sealed the rest of the floors so they will outlast the subfloor.

West Coast is in Corona.

They consulted with us regarding the modified trailer.

Their shop, always has some strange/different stuff in-house.

Their prices however, because of their great work, is more often than not, real big bucks, the the end products, are always far out and beautiful.

Hi Andy!

You were tremendously helpful on the project, however I wish WCC consulted with you even more. I'm not sure our design would have come to fruition without your involvement.

And for anyone that cares -- the trailer is a 2005 Safari LS. I'd be happy to answer any questions as we designed it for Skype.
