I looks like there's some sort of cross-promotion campaign going on with airstream...There was an ad in the current Airstream Life issue...something about making fishy faces. Looked kinda silly, but will reserve opinion until more details come out...

Update: details here.

It's a huge cross-promotion. The word on the road is this was a deal for AS to dump some rolling stock and rent them on KOA sites. It's a done deal; I know these things.

Any model with a 'c' in it's spelling won't be safe.

KOA has been on the Airstream website for at least a month...maybe more.

Hey Millvalley,

The Petaluma KOA is beautiful and would make a nice location for one of these beauty's. Ever get up that way?

Hey Vlamica
We go to that KOA often. The kids love that place and we're only 30 minutes away!!!...
We've seen several Airstreams there...some in long term parking.
The last time there were 4 Airstreams spread throughout the park.
Maybe we'll run into you there someday...you're 15 minutes away?

Yup,

Lets make a point to meet there. I work in Santa Rosa and drive by it each day thinking i could be there and not in all this traffic.
The KOA in Asti (Cloverdale) is also fun for the kids. The setup in Petaluma would be great for the airstream but i dont know how in this economy they could swing the purchase. The cabins are virtually no maintenance for them and i would think the airstreams would be considerable upkeep and policing.

When they sell them off in five years, what will the axles be like from sitting the whole time?? I would be afraid to by an Airstream that has had that much traffic through it in that short of a time......
