Airstream motorhome on TV!

Just saw a promo for the Ted Danson / Mary Steenburgen TV show "It must Be Love" which will air Sunday night, 2-15. In the show they take a trip in an Airstream motorhome and rediscover their lost love for each other. It may be cheesy, but hey - there's an Airstream in it!

I told my brothers, if there is an Airstream in the movie or show its a big deal to us nutty alumaniacs. I could even put up with Ted Danson to see a classic MH on my tv.

The Motorhome crashes and it is a two hour show

Johnbaker,

I suspect you may only need to record the first 10-20 minutes or so because the motorhome crashes. After that it becomes a typical CBS Sunday night for women show. The men then can get back to Alias or The Simpsons.

I notice on the promo that Mary Steenburgen's character refers to the motor home as the "Divorce Wagon" at one point. Maybe that comment has a much broader meaning that goes beyond the movie!

That said, I do notice a lot of the contributors to this forum tend to be couples both of whom enjoy their Airstreams.

Ack! Ted is an Architect on this show

I must confess. I have this show on in the background. It turns out that Ted Danson's character is an architect or. Being an architect I collect videos of movies featuring architects or scenes with architects at work. Most are a hoot. However, this one along with "Intersection" staring Richard Gere won't make it in my library even with the Airstream motorhome.

My favorites:

Mr. Blandings Builds His Dream House

Housesitter

Life as a house

The Fountainhead

I give it 5pts for everytime one character calls it ' the motorhome' and the is corrected by the other saying 'it's an airstream'.

In every used car I've ever bought, I've eventually found a few old french fries between the seats. You know, the ones someone dropped and then forgot about? Even years after they're abandoned, they still look like french fries.

I've developed a rationale for not seeking these out and disposing of them. My notion is that, if I'm ever stranded in the car, I'll have an emergency source of food.

Well, I'm now vindicated. In the movie, our hapless couple has been stuck for a few days and is running out of food. Then, they remember that the wife had earlier thrown a bag of Cheetos at the husband. Instant emergency food source!

Moral: Don't be too hasty to clean every morsel out of that car or motorhome!

Wow! Just saw it. Lots of footage of the Airstream in the film which was great. Although there were a lot of quarrels between Ted Danson's character and Mary Steenburgen's character, the ugliest thing that was ever said about the Airstream was that it was a "camper".

The reflector Ted Danson created out of Airstream aluminum trim and mirrors to attract attention from aircraft was amusing...

AS on TV

I sure seemed easy for Ted Danson to remove the rear bumper. In the snow with few tools.

We thought the movie was ok. The footage of the Airstream was
pretty cool though...it was an 82 280 just like mine. The rear bath is the giveaway, and the lack of rear wrap around glass.
The interior was interestingly customized, tried all movie to figure out what they had covered the trim with..looked like vinyl over the plastic surrounding the cabinets and all.
Anyway having two hours with a ton of shots of the MH was great and made us even a bit more proud of the one sitting in m driveway.

He must have levitated, right after he took off the bumper and lifted it up there. Quite a deal. I am glad to see the classic, refrred to as "custom" get prime time exposure.
You can bet many people said " I didn't know they made those"

I also loveed the motorhome/camper statementss only to be replied "it's an Airstream!".

Either the writer understands or someone slipped a few bucks for the promo.

Other than that I thought the story line was pretty lame. My wife pointed out the fact that we would have enough food for over a month the way she packs. We got flooded into a campground about 25 years ago in our pop up days. We were the only ones in the campground who didn't need food (and diapers) floated in.

stand corrected

A 280 it is! I was so busy looking at the spare in the rear shots I missed the lack of wrap around windows....Movie wasn't good enough to watch again to look again though....jem

My wife and I liked the shots of the airstream.
It is the only classic I have seen without an awning

It made me wish my motorhome was in the Maine woods even with the snow.

The 280 was the star!

If it weren't for the 280 I would have flipped to something else. But it was nice to see a classic motorhome in almost every scene.

All it did was make me want to go camping (with full tanks, full propane, and extra food)

There was a ladder, remember the beginning of the trip and he was on a ladder cleaning the windshield. Later stored the ladder under the coach just ahead of the street side rear tire.
His wrecking the coach to make a reflector was a bit far fetched.
