Always interesting articles as in the past, on the road...
I agree with him, the interstate is certainly a solution to travel with somthing between motorhomes and travel trailers. There is a thread about that but this way is for me the solution to travel and cross America with an economic and simple trailer. Only the price is a stop to my enthousiam so I think it's a question of time ( in years) to see the first interstates for sale at affordable price...

Bruno.

Have you checked out the new Airstream prototype? It looks like a Tab. Does Thor own Tab too? Full opening windows are cool as are the wheels. And the painted body should circumvent corroision problems. Anyone want to guess what the price might be. Should would be cool to buy the prototype if they decide not to put them into production.

Bruno that sure is a tricked out interior on the Interstate though, like it so much better than the former base Safari interior. Me too I am a trailer kind of person.

Wow, that "Scotty" prototype (think "Wally Byam Holiday") is too cool. I'd also like to see more of the new 22ft Sport FB. I think AS is finally getting close to what I want.

Ok yes Holiday! Would love to see the interior. Very responsive to consumer's needs in the smaller trailers. First the basecamp after the Torpedo now this, what else has Wally had back in the beginning? Any other types?

More "Scout" photos

Since you're interested, I set up a small online album with more photos of this prototype. See them here:

Hey Rich,

Thanks for sharing the photos from the RV show. Hopefully Tucson is treating all of you well, if you guys get the fever to head out in the AS, the 4CU is having a rally at Picacho Peak SP over New Years. That is an easy 30 min or so trip from Tucson.

Would be great to see you and your family again!

We are very fortunate to have one in our unit. Very nice trailer for two. Wish there were more around. You were probably looking for the new trailer interiors though.

No thank you very much. I love looking at vintage interiors. So often I only see the brochure mock up of the floorplan. Very neat indeed. Thanks for sharing the pictures.

Also did anyone note the new Airstream rental program to be introduced at KOAs? That is cool. If you have any family or friends wanting to have the experience they can then camp right along with you. And I know I have seen several inquiries on the forum wanting to rent an Airstream.

Now that prototype would be perfect for those who want an Airstream and insist on pulling it wiff a VW.

Thanks for the article. Sounds like someone forgot to pour in the Campa-Chem otherwise sounded like a pretty good unit, though you might have to be a seasoned RVer to appreciate the compromises and negate some of reviewer's lessor criticisms.

Rich, Thanks for posting these photos. It is an interesting concept. I guess AS will decide after having input from dealers at the show to build this unit or not.
