Airstream Advertisement & Offer

I just received my first-ever advertisement from Airstream for the new International Series. Along with the ad they have offered a free copy of the new "Wanderlust" book if you visit your local Airstream dealer before May 15, 2007. That's a pretty good deal because I know that, like others, I paid the full $39.95 for my copy back when I was having some work done at the factory in 2005. I'm not sure if this is a selective offer or not - because there is a "coupon-type" enclosure that has to be signed by the dealer in order for you to get the book? The "Signature Series" trailers are mighty sharp looking - as is the "Ocean Breeze" model.

I just got one too

Exactly the same deal. One page flyers for the new trailers and offer for Wanderlust which I already got as a b-day present. I wonder how they got my address because I have never done any business with Thor or Airstream. Is the Forums selling membership information????

Nope I can assure you that these are truly private. I got the mailing also today and it was under my legal name (John) so I know it couldn't have come from here. Probably they accessed the state licensing records, which can be had for a price in Missouri and other states.

Nice offer though and makes a trip to the dealership all the more worthwhile.

I received the offer today, addressed to me only by full name and not addressed the way I would have written it. I guess that I will have to pick up a copy of Wanderlust.

We received one today too. It was addressed to me. However our license plate is registered in my wife's name. I wonder if "Airstream Life" sold their subscription list since ours is in my name.

You don't have to do business with a company to receive junk mail from them. The name-address list selling business is big business. Airstream most likely purchased a list or lists of names from a list broker. How does your name get on a list brokers list? One way is when you fill out a warranty card. Ever wonder why the warranty card for a chain saw wants to know what kind of books you read or what your hobbies are or what your salary range is. They turn around and sell your name and address and other info, over and over again. A good example is I ran a test back in 1992 when I purchased a chain saw. I filled out the warranty card and used a middle initial of "T" (which is not my real middle initial). To this day, I am still receiving junk mail addressed to my name with the middle initial of "T". In the past fifteen years, I have received hundreds of pieces of mail from that original chain saw warranty card.

P.S.
I received the offer too but not addressed to the middle initial of "T". Apparently Airstream doesn't think that a chainsaw wielding female would be a good candidate to purchase an Airstream!

I used to do the middle inital thing also. I have used over a dozen just to see who is selling me to who.The one that got the most mail was from season tickets to Broadway Plays at ASU.

Many magazines sell their subscriber lists as it is a good revenue source but Airstream Life, according to their website, does not sell their list.

I got the offer too. Very tempting, because we will be heading past there next week, but their lot is such a pain to get in and out of pulling a trailer, and I wouldn't want to accidentally come out with a different trailer than I went in with! I'll be better off just paying $40 and buying the book outright!

I got one yesterday. Since the only Airstream dealer in this area is over in Arkansaw, I guess I won't rush right over to get my freebie.

Hey gang,

I know that Forums didn't sell you info...neither did A/S Life...Airstream Inc. is wanting to show off the New Signature Series which is selling great! And they are giving a select amount of people this beautiful book just to come and look! It is a great offer and don't cost you a penny.

Hopefully you fortunate ones that received this offer will take advantage of it!

If not, and you would rather buy the book...give me a call!

I will sell you mine!

G

But, if you have had no contact with Airstream from a dealership or from a corporate sense, then the "select" folks had to have their name picked up from somewhere.

Did any of you not subscribing to Airstream Life get this offer? That would end that speculation pretty quickly and take them out of the equation.

Jack
