I'm puzzled why I haven't received my book yet. The dealer faxed the letter on 9 April. I watched him do it. Still nothin' as of 9 May. I figured I'd have something by now, since some of you sent off for yours much later and already have received yours.

Is there anyone at Airstream I can contact to verify I'm in the system and to be patient?

I brought my letter to the dealer 10 days ago and received my book today. I was very surprized to get it so quick.

Are you sure your dealer faxed your letter?

I dropped my form off at the Airstream Dealer in Alachau, Florida, on April 26. In today's mail (May 9) I received the book fom Airstream in Jackson Center.

We got our book last week, just a week or 2 since we visited RVs of Sacramento. Sales lady, Renee, gave us a personalized no pressure tour of each unit we pointed out. She answered all of the questions we had even the 'silly' ones. She said the Base Camp isn't the hit they thought it would be. She also told us that Airstream mailed out 45,000 book offer/invites. We were pleased with our visit and the very nice 'Wanderlust' book.

Eagle, I would call Jackson Center Customer Service and politely ask where you are in the process since you visited a dealer over a month ago and know many others have received their book already. Did the dealership give you a copy of the fax transmittal confirmation? Mine did, and if you have one too you could fax it to Jackson Center if need be.

Visited Middle TN Airstream last Monday and the book was on my doorstep this morning.

Tina and I went Saturday the 5th of May and are awaiting the delivery of or copy too. No rush, I figured it would take 2+ weeks. We went to the Hammond, LA dealer - they are new to Airstreams and took over stock from the last LA dealer, mostly 25 footers and 2006 and 2007 models.

We also got the tour. They were no pressure - "Airstreams sell themselves" and "you know more about these than I do", Kinda fun to look at the CCD and Classic together side by side. I like the center rear bed config in the Classic which is walk around.

I actually watched the saleman fax the letter on April 9. It went through without any alarms. I asked for a confirmation receipt and he replied that their machine didn't give out receipts but assured me that it went through.

I emailed customer service yesterday explaining the situation. I still haven't received a response. I'll call tomorrow and if I have to I'll go back to Safford RV on Monday (5/14) and talk to the Sales Manager, have the letter resent and demand a receipt or have them call Airstream and confirm receipt!

If I have to I'll call Bob Wheeler himself.

I was going to go, but didn't. I just didn't have the heart to waste a salespersons time, knowing I had no intention of every buying another Airstream until the corrosion issue is resolved.

Hi, just go get the book, it's not going to corrode! [The Book] I don't have that corrosion problem yet and hope I never do, but if it happens I'm going to use and enjoy my trailer anyway. I plan to use my trailer for twenty years unless the body rots off of the frame or vice versa. If it gets ugly, my wife just said, "we will just get it painted." Just jokeing with my wife, I said I would have the rear cap painted yellow and print "School Bus" on the back.

I thought about it, but am gonna pass. The book though is cool and if folks have a dealer nearby, it is worth it. Closest dealer from me is about an hour away. For what I'd spend in gas, given current prices (and the fact that none of my vehicles gets over 19mpg highway) I could simply buy it and save myself 2 hours of commute time.

My closest dealer is right across the highway from the closest Camping World. I had to make my yearly spring trip to CW so I thought I would get the book too. They were real nice at the Dealer - they recognized the company offer for what it was and had no issue with the drive up - fax the page - drive away crowd. I wanted to look at the newer models up close and I think this is what the company wants from this offer - hands on viewing. Temptation - it's a dangerous thing.........

Anyway, when a company gives away something like this - it usually means there is another one coming out that is better.

Our local Airstrream dealer (Windish) is between work & home, so we stopped by this afternoon with the "coupon" in hand. I have never been impressed with this dealership - mostly because of their indifference to us as vintage owners.

Much to my surprise, the folks were very nice and low key - I was expecting a hard sell and was geared up for it. They had all the trailers open and said we could look around all we wanted - without an escort. They had better inventory than I recall ever seeing before - we loooked at at least 9...mostly Safari Internationals & CCDs different models & finish packages. They also had a big Classic & two Base Camps. My favorite was the 27' FB in a color scheme called Cilantro. Very nice set-up for full-timing IMO.

Anyway, I wanted to post a positive "Yeah!" for Bill @ Windish...he faxed off my coupon without any qualms and was not high-pressure at all.

Now back to work on Birdy!

I just call Airstream today, talked with Linda. It seems that my free book offer has slipped through the cracks. They have not received the Fax from the dealer or sent me out one. She asked if I had the sheet still and I said I did so she will accept it directly from me. We shall see, with all that has been going on I let this go too long.
