Ours came today and yes, I'm wondering how we were "selected." Seems to be a big "select" group I'd like the book, but I don't know when we'll be in St. L to go by Bill Thomas. I wish getting service within the year counted. ~G

We got one yesterday as well, but they had already sent us the book a few months ago since we bought a new airstream in 2006, the 75th anniversary.

So new trailer sales may have our address, but someone else is doing this promo.

We got the letter yesterday too...

Anybody "cashed it in" yet? Did you get the book w/o buying a trailer?

I'm seeing a lot of present (& a few past) WBCCI members in this thread...whatcha think?

The speculation should already be ended with regards to A/S Life as they do not sell their list (see my posts above on this topic).

Got mine............

yesterday, but I already have the book. It was a gift from Airstream after I bought my '06CCD. While it is not the '75th Anniversary Bambi', it has the 75th anniversary plaque on the side and I guess the book was a 'thank you' from Jackson Center.

rec'd ours today via snail mail. The only contact we've had lately with A/S was last summer, when we had hydro brakes installed.
Best,

I have actually written to AS trying to get product brocures, so I was not at all surprised they had my info.

Hmm, it's so tempting to just swing by there on our way by. From the paperwork it looks like you just need to get the dealer's signature and then I assume send the paper back in and they will send you the book.

Role Reversal

Just returned from a long weekend in Vicksburg Mississippi and the brochure was in the mail box. What is scaring me is my wife if flipping out over the Signature Series. Now I know how she has felt all those years when I had to have a certain boat or car, I don’t know if I can handle this role reversal.

Hey JC,

You are a very lucky guy to have a wife with such good taste! That must mean that you're hot stuff, too! Think how good you will look in that new Signature Series!

DJ

PS... Did I mention that my wife is as excited as yours?

We got it too, but it was addressed to my wife. Our AS in in our joint names, but Airstream Life is in her name. Hmmmm.

Hi, right now as I was reading this post, I asked my wife if she got todays mail; She said, no. I went out and, Guess what, I got the book offer too.
Now I don't know if I should thank Airstream or thank you people who are going to your nearest dealer to buy another new trailer.

Ever wonder why the warranty card for a chain saw wants to know what kind of books you read or what your hobbies are or what your salary range is. They turn around and sell your name and address and other info, over and over again. A good example is I ran a test back in 1992 when I purchased a chain saw. I filled out the warranty card and used a middle initial of "T" (which is not my real middle initial). To this day, I am still receiving junk mail addressed to my name with the middle initial of "T". In the past fifteen years, I have received hundreds of pieces of mail from that original chain saw warranty card.

P.S.
I received the offer too but not addressed to the middle initial of "T". Apparently Airstream doesn't think that a chainsaw wielding female would be a good candidate to purchase an Airstream!
Very interesting speculation in alot of the posts in this thread. I am extremely selective about where my name and info go. (I received the offer in the mail today). To add more/dispel some speculation I offer this:

It's not from my states registration files (Washington) as my first name on the offer is a shortened version as to what is on my drivers license and my various registrations.
I subscribe to Airstream Life - the subscription info does not match the info on the free offer (case, and 9 digit zip vs 5)
The Forums does not have my full name, just first initial and last initial.
My number is unlisted - I get very few telemarketing calls, and very little junk mail.
I'm perplexed how I got the offer - I'm not complaining mind you , but would definitely like to know how I was "selected".

I feel a little guilty about wasting their time going to look just so I can get a free book, but they made the offer. They couldn't get me to give up my Caravel unless they were handing me a new Bambi for free, and even then I'd probably think twice. I really love my Caravel, and I just finally got it all done just the way I want it!

Pumpkin, I'm betting it's Airstream Life. They have licensing agreements with Airstream, perhaps they are not consdiered an 'outside party' when it comes to sharing the mailing list. As to case and the zip being different, that's pretty minor. In some bulk mailing situations you get a break for using the zip+5, so they could have run the names through a program to add those, and changed the case along the way.

Has anyone gotten the offer who does not subscribe to AS Life?

Steph -

I'm leaning towards agreeing with your conclusion. I can't come up with any other logical ones .
