Question Airstream abuse?

Ok, I know I'm YEARS behind in pop-culture, but last night i finally got to see the first Charlie's Angels film on DVD. At one point what looks like a '70's era Airstream gets destroyed by automatic weapons fire to (supposedly) comic effect. Anybody see this? And can anyone tell me the approximate year and model (and whether or not it was a real trailer or a mock-up)?

Just curious!

I have never seen the movie but I can think of a couple of the older ones that might benefit from being put out of their misery.

I've seen it too

Yes, I've seen it. They put about a million rounds into it. Then it collapses, to make me feel like it is a mock up....but they show one of the characters going in and out of it during the movie...so maybe not. It hurt to see it happen, as it was nicely polished as I recall.

Rob--watch out, you are showing your sensitive side!

Still, I bet there was less damage than, say, a typical episode of "While You Were Out!" They probably rented a nice trailer for the scenes where folks go inside and out of it (or borrowed a pretty one from the back lot). That trailer emerged unscathed. At the end, I was pretty sure it was a scrap hull piece--they may have polished it (or made it looked polished with CGI graphics) to match the nice pretty one in the earlier scenes.

I would imagine that there probably are lots of visual tricks put in there intended just to get die-hard airstreamers (like us!) all teary eyed and verklempt! Who knows--they may have it set so the wrecked trailer can be used indefinitely for other shoots!

Funny how all of the bullet holes appear to have been shots from the inside of the trailer (inside to outside).
