2019 Airstream Trailer Changes?

Is there any information on new changes that may be made to the 2019 Airstream travel trailers?

If history is any guide, they will find a way to build them cheaper, but charge even more!

Sorry, couldn't resist!

For 2019 they are switching to Olympic rivets on the exterior skin. It substantially cuts down on the amount of labor, can be done with one person, and they have determined that it is plenty strong.

Olympic rivets

I hope Not.

Far less labor, crappy look.

Yup. I thought I would see a little more outrage though.

2019 Airstream Trailer Changes?

Sometimes potentially dumb moves on Airstream’s part fail to surprise some of us any more.

My first thought was, “I’m darn glad my 2007 has bucked rivets in the exterior...and I’m going to KEEP it.”

We just ordered a 2019 Serenity 30. We were told the warranty is now 3 years instead of 2. Also, on those units, the Power Awning, Awning Package and Voyager Back Up cameras are now standard.

3 year warranty is great. Glad to see that airstream is stepping up in support of their products. Most issues shake out in the first 12-18 months but it certainly gives additional piece of mind to the buyer that they are investing in a quality, premium product that the company backs.

Since we have a 2019 International Serenity 30 with twins on order, I'm curious if anyone knows what is meant by the reference to the storage area changes? And why would the 30 Flying Cloud get a larger mirror, but not other models of the 30 foot? The baths are the same.

I've been scouting the interwebs for months checking out what new features the new 2019 might have. I get my sport 22fb in a few weeks and can't wait. I can confirm the addition of standard backup camera and 3 year warranty. Anyone interested to see what's new on their perspective trailers can now download the 2019 brochures off of airstream's site.

.......I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas at this point...lol

Ask them how long the warranty is on sealants. Used to be six months, but they never wanted to talk about that until the trailer was at least 7 months old. [emoji6]
