What A/C did you install?

Trying to decide on a replacement and wanting to see what others have done.

Coleman 13,500 BTU - works great! My Safari is only 22' perhaps you would want to consider a 15,000 BTU.

When I replaced ours, I went with a Penguin 13,500 with a heat strip. Now, you can't get the 15k Penguin, and the only way to get heat is a heat pump. They work well, and are efficient, but are pricier than a regular a/c unit.
So, long story short, if you want 15k, you are limited to Brisk Air or AirXcell (formerly Coleman). Both drain water over the side of the trailer, which is the other reason I went with a Penguin, it comes with a drain pan so it won't run down the side of the trailer.

Terry,
How does that unit stack up against the old Armstrong Baybreeze? And what would it take to mount two of them? Upgrade to 50 amps?

Also FWIW Dometic is showing the Penguin in a 15k on their website...slow to update? Or is that the wrong unit?

For a Sovereign in Texas, I'd definitely advise the 15K BTU. And even that might only get you -20 degrees, so on a 105 degree day, the best you're going to get might be something like 85 inside the coach. Always park in the shade.

And yes, to run two A/C units you'd need to go up to 50A. At rated load, mine draws something like 14.1A. So two of them would put you almost to your original 30A, and then turning on a light or two would kill the breakers.
