Stovetop & Hubcap

My husband and I just bought a 31' Sovereign '75. We've owned 3 before a '97 Safari started us off last 2-03. It took my husband years to talk me into it and now I am into it. Then we bought a '99 Limited with every bell and whistle - sold it when my husband lost his job and we started a business (needed cash) We bought a '82 Motorhome in San Diego and that was a bust turned around and sold it immediately without any work on it. Took a hit but glad we did. Now we have this '75. It had been taken care of at one time but the husband died 10 yrs ago and the wife never did much. We just left the TCPC campground in TN where we bought it. It took us four days to clean the mildew, rip out carpet, find rotted flooring, have someone get our 12v electrical working, the water heater etc. The bathroom floor is gone and will be replaced while we are gone for several weeks. We took the couch to be reupholstered and the curtains we had drycleaned. I am impressed with how well made this '75 is compared to the '97 & '99. It has features that are far superior to even our decked out '99. I think we'll keep this one for awhile.
We do need a refinisher for the stovetop. It works great but is pitted with rust. We need one hub cap. And we need the end pieces of the 12v flourescent valance as well as a balast for one of the lights. Can anyone help? I have contacted several of salvage places but not been successful so far. Thanks and I am pleased to be among such fine commrades. John and Linda

When I had gotten your message yesterday we had already left TN and are now back in FL. The stovetop is a four burner drop in with a fold back top - all stainless steel but pitted. We are looking for one without the pitting - it works fine. The hubcap is four cubes intersected with a cross. Two of the cubes are blue and I think the other cubes are white (I'm not certain). Linda

Hubcaps

Linda,
Don't have the ability to post a picture right now, but the hubcap centers are blue with a sliver cross, one of the cubes is white and the other is silver. We really like the mid 70's units, I would love to get my hands of a Caravanner for those quick weekend getaways. I always thought the stove tops were stainless but apparently not. What about stripping it down and repainting with an engine enamel? Your choice of colors. Maybe POR 15 would work?

Aaron

Wheelcovers

I'm looking for wheelcovers for my 75 31' Sovereign also. I need two for the street side, but I'd buy 4 if they're available in nice condition. Anyone?
