how are the black and gray storage tanks held in place?

I am in the middle of a full body off resto and the support brackets for the storage tank were compeletly rusted away. I am just wondering if anyone has pictures of how the tanks where mounted and supported. I have the ability to make them I just want to make sure I do it the way it was originaly made. The disign must have been solid the metal rusted away. The later will not happen this time. Thanks

I don't think Airstreams came with gray tanks in 1970 so yours must have been added.

Gray tanks were added first in 1974. Here's how the tanks were held in for the 1974 model year; in drop-down trays.



My frames rusted out too, along with the "pans" that the tanks sat in. Cost a bundle to have new ones fabricated and installed.
