Airstream Date of Birth
Looking at the capacities emblem on my Airstream and I noticed a "date of manufacture". It is listed as 8-13/86. I know this seems like a question with an obvious answer - but I just need to confirm that is what it means.
Does A/S place the actual day the trailer rolled off the line on these units?
The reason I ask is because this is the first trailer I've ever purchased (about 3 months ago) and 8/13 is my birthday - very cool if my trailer and I have the same B-day! Would seem it was meant to be!

Very funny - I was not born in 86 - only born on the same month and day as my trailer. Still probably one of the younger members at 30.

Oh my gosh, there's a member younger than I am. Now I'm feeling old at 35!

Hmmmm does not look like anyone knows the answer to your question - I'm curious myself - I would think its the date it rolls out of factory, but that just a guess.

Also interesting that I think the date on my '04 Classic is month and year only. My '01 Safari had month day year.

So Jack I guess what your saying is "yes" they used to put month, day & year on the trailers capacities emblem.
Would be very interested to know if that is day it rolls off the showroom floor. Anyone have an answer? - good piece of trivia.

Given the fact that the tag is attached at the factory I would gues it would either have to be the date it was started or the date it was completed.
