Been lurking for a bit, finally bought a 31' Soverign in Oct 2012. Went away for a few months, than Christmas and working, but during March Break started with the overhaul. I was only going to do a few things, but one thing led to another (tore up carpet, found some rot, took out center twin beds, found water tank broken, etc) and I am doing pretty much a complete shell on resto. Here are the exterior pics.
Well, the girlfriend and I decided we should gut the bathroom, just in case there was a problem with the floor. And guess what, there was. The hot water copper pipe had 5 cracks in behind the bathtub, plus the cold water had a previous repair that had come apart. So, out it came.
Love that 70's flowered wallpaper in the bath! Aren't you glad you decided to remove some stuff.... Your bathroom floor looks a lot like ours did. We did a complete shell-on. It's doable but I think if we were to do it again we'd go for shell-off. Would make it alot easier to get to tanks, bellypan, etc. All of it is alot of work but we're at the point of "worth it" now. We offered some of the pieces to people free on the forums if they'd pay shipping. Got rid of some stuff to good homes that way. Good luck!
Yikes, you guys went for it, and that's awesome! Say, how easy was it to remove the sliding doors that go to the bathroom? I have the same trailer and one of my doors has stripped the screws and sags. I need to repair it. Here's a thread that I started that got no responses, lol.
I'd appreciate any insight you can provide. Thanks!
