1983 34-foot Limited with "Oregon" in the wood trim
We just bought a 1983 34-ft Limited. It needs some cleaning and repairing. I am curious about the trim. In the wood-grain strip that runs around the trailer, it says Limited but on the rear section of the entrance side, it also says "Oregon." I can;t find any information about this "model." Has anyone heard of it? Is it just a trim package?
We are also looking for info on restoring it. We are planning to live in it while we make upgrades/restorations. Any advice?
When I posted some *vintage* photos of my grandparents in their various AS trailers I noticed the tail end of a state name (Tennessee) within the blue tape trim area. Someone on the forum responded that it used to be common for the owners to have their state name imprinted ...
Oh, here it is ... from Overlander64 "The lettering on the side of the coach at the bottom appears to be a state or unit name. During the 1970s and 1980s, it was fairly common to have one's unit or state name painted in the coach's side coves" and you can see the pic in quesiton in post #7 of http://www.airforums.com/forums/f161...tos-45861.html
Stratguysrv had Tennessee on his. There is a photo in post #3. As I mentioned in post #5, I have the faint outlines of "TEXAS" in the blue stripes of my 1983 34' Excella. As already discussed, a lot of owners added their state names.
Glad to see another 34' 1983. I got my '83 Excella here in Arkansas, but my '67 Trade Wind came from San Marcos. I was living in Rolling Oaks, between Wimberley and Driftwood at the time. Very nice part of TX and the US!
