Awning roller on International 25 ft

I am looking to purchase an International 25 ft. I have not personnally inspected it yet but I was told the awning roller was wrecked and was therefore removed. However, the braces that hinge from the bottom are supposed to be there yet.
What was the length of the roller on that trailer and can one purchase the roller alone?

Just the roller? Yes. What about the fabric, rafter arms, and braces? Did they save everything but the roller tube?
The roller should be about 15 feet, but you will need to measure the hardware that's still attached to make sure. It may be an inch or three more or less than that.

The short answer is yes you can buy a new tube, but like Overlander says, you need to be concerned about the condition of the remaining hardware. Tube damage usually means overload on the canopy (water, snow, etc) which can damage all sorts of awning components.

The other issue (I'm dealing with at this moment) is replacement parts availablility. If the unit is old you may have to do some digging, bartering, or (in my case) modify newer components to work for your application.

Good Luck,

Kevin

One thing to consider is the make of the awning. If it was a Zipdee, replacement would just be a phone call away. Others may not be as easy.

The trailer is an '80 International 25ft so parts might be an issue. I believe the only thing remaining are the two braces assuming that refers to the two parts that are hinged at the bottom of the trailer and conform to the contour of the trailer. I will know more next week as I am going to pick it up on Monday.

Got the trailer and got the answer about the awning. There is not enough left to make it worth buying the parts to replace it. So, somewhere down the trail we will be looking at buying a new one.
