The French Roulotte Alu.

I bought this in the USA.

It was done about this trip this topic :
http://www.airforums.com/forums/f483...ce-150153.html

Now the trip is over.
Here I will speak on more technical things.

There has already been work USA.
To begin. I bought aluminum wheels.
Used parts found in Phoenix.
A chance.

By replacing steel wheels.
But ... The screws were too short for these new wheels.
I had to order on the internet.

And assembly.
So more beautiful like that.

I had a problem with the water heater.

Pilot flame obstructed
And I broke the tube by disassembling it.

Right ! I found the part easily.

During our trip, I often had broken pipes.

We lived wet!
Promise redoing everything in France.

Brake problem too.

Adjusting screw that is disassembled.
And fell in the drum.
Lot of noise

Some electrical problems again...
Temporarily repaired ... Also.

Another technical problem.
No failure that.
The gas bottles ...
Refused for transport in the boat.
I had to disassemble and abandon them.

I will not talk again about vandalism on the car ...
.
.
That's what happened on the side of the USA.
.
.
July 30 17, I took back possession of my Airstream.
At the port of Zeebrugge, Belgium.

At home.
New home for this Airstream.

Beginning Works.
First concern.
The electricity.
Many connections are scary.

I write the Following...

What an adventure! It appears you have the perfect combination of patience and repair skills it takes to own an Airstream. Bon Chance!

Further work.

And as we must start at one end. It's the organization of the tongue.
It was like that.
I did not like it.
And missing things for here.

Removing.
The thread of the jack screw was not good.

Also I wanted to function more.
So. Dismantling the jack.

Remanufacturing a motor housing.

To have a button more. And a power outlet.
For a work light or any accessory.

The additional button will controlling an automatic feedback system in up position.
For this system, it's nececary limit switches.
Adding. For up position.

rl]

For down max.

Modification of the jack is finished. Painting.
While drying, then.
Gas tubes were passing in bulk. I find.
The changeover not automatic. Not practical.
And badly placed

A new regulator changeover has arrived from the USA.
Funny.
It is made in Italy. Maybe 400 km from home.
Oupsss... 250 milles.
I could have it than by bringing from the USA.
Mackenzie had inspected. He had approved.

Back on the tongue.
Cutting of impeding portions for the following work.

Part fixed in the triangle of the tongue for replace the damaged threads of the jack attachment.
The cutouts allow to pass this.
And ... Threads become metric. It's Europe here. Sorry. But better for me.

The jack returns to its place.

Ho!
There is gas too.
In France, the bottles do not fill up. There is only change !
I discovered the filling of bottles in the USA.

I liked. I want to do it.
I'll talk about that later...
My old bottles did not come with the Airstream.
Refused for transport in the boat.
I had to re-order in the USA.
Still complications.
Also one bottle was lost !

But...
Let's go back to the organization of the tongue.
A bracket was done.

Also. Yes...
The second bottle is found and arrived. Good.

The bracket.
One side it supports two sockets.
One for a US connection.
Other for European.

Other side. The gas regulator and automatic changeover.

With metal tubes for passing the two pigtails between the two bottles.

Like that, it's good for me.

But... The removed parts, they must be redone.

Complication again.
The passage of a pipe for electric wires.

Pieces redone with flange for the bottles.

The work is done quietly.
The days pass.
The trailer is bored to take the road.
Towards new landscapes.

Thank you for posting your progress. You do great work with quite an eye for improvement. Wish you worked for Airstream.

Good Luck with your upgrades.

When you get your coach back on the road, travel safe. Pat

The miseries of the Roulotte Alu.

Arrived in France, the fridge did not work anymore.
It worked about two hours. Then it went into fault function.
Flame lights up. Burn three seconds. And stop system.

I suspected the thermocouple.

I ordered this piece in USA.
Unknown in Europe. We feel alone here with an Airstream.

How complicated and price of the piece compared to shipping, I took two.

Thermocouple changed. And... It did not work better !

Great moment of distress ...

According to me there was only the electronic card that could be defective.

Investigations ...

The fridge is a Dometic RM2612.
For this model I found three different cards.
I managed to identify mine through views on forums.
It has been found is no longer available.
Also, I found a replacement reference.
- Universal-board-kit-2-way-3308741002

Order. In the USA always ... Inevitably.
Received.

Set up.
End...
How beautiful is a flame that burns for more than three seconds.

Now that it works, there is only to tidy up the assembly.
Is a little different from what was originally.

Other misery.

The heating.

Does not work anymore. Also !

Not well. Now it is useful.

The flame was goes out. Too.

I thought having to disassemble everything.
While beginning I found a wasp nest in the intake.

Cleaned... It worked again.

Just a fortnight. It did the same again.

I got angry. I completely dismantled.

Cleaned. Reassembled. And... Same ! !

I disconnected the gas pipe. Regulator side end and heating.
And sent pressurized air.
With that it worked again.

Great !

Now it's sweet in the Roulotte.

The weather can go crazy.

I have work inside.
