shower replacement

Has anyone replaced their shower in a 25 ft rear full size bed sovereign? We checked with the factory and they don't have any shower replacements. It is the one that is over the wheel well, midway in the sovereign. ours has a small crack along the wall and is also pretty grungy.

Let me know.

Thanks

There is no replacement that I have found. I took after mine with bleach and managed to bring it back to respectability, that and caulk..... plus it would be havoc getting it out! I did have a thought at the time to find a shower pan at the big box store and simply put stainless on the walls for a water proof enclosure..never had the guts to try it though.

I had an 87 Excella mid bath that had a crack in the shower pan in one corner. I bought a shower pan repair kit for a fiberglass shower at the hardware store and patched it. The bisque color matched ok, but the texture was not as smooth as the original surface. (due to my next to nothing fiberglass repair skills) It did not leak afterward, for the years I owned it.

A scotch-brite pad, some cleaner, and elbow grease will clean the grunge off. It's the layers of caulk that have mold growing throughout that's the hardest thing to fix. Once you get it cleaned up, use automotive wax to keep it looking good.

I imagine it is fiberglass. Have you ever performed any fiberglass work? I just did some work on a tractor canopy and it didn't turn out to bad. I started with some fiberglass that contained "kitty hair" (tiny strands of fiberglass) and have sanded it down. I still need to put a gel coat on the top and then paint.
A local automotive paint store such as KOI will have the materials.
