Thanks Cloud.
I'm sure it has been asked before but what is the 53 Flying Cloud? another Airstreaam of yours?
It's the name of our 'first' A/S that was made in '53.
I just grabbed the name, as it had class.

The striping on your pictured trailer is very attractive. Is it the stock layout or have you customized?
Thanks, yes it is new "stock", which, I replaced two years ago.The blue inserts, are 1/4 in for the upper rub rails and, 1/2 in. for the lower rub rail. I bought 'em at the A/S factory store.

The lower rub rail appears to be a double hump design??? Or is that just an illusion in the photo?Just an illusion.

And the beltline, Is that the same insert size? or is the wide area all an insert with a blue stripe painted on ?Actually, it's all one piece 'original'. I've tried to find a replacement but..no luck yet
I also see your 84Sovereign is a 29 footer.
When did they drop from 31'? And was there a 84Overlander as well? 1.You picked up on that~Good for you~! Actually, it's considered to be a 31 ft by todays standard but, in '84, Airstream measured it's model length from the inside..not by the outside as they do now. All of the current measurements are made from the rear bumper to the front of the unit's A frame.(As I call it).
2. You know, I'm not sure about an '84 Overlander model. At least I've never seen one.

Actually I guess you ought to post that picture and answer this under a 84 Sovereign catagory if one exists, and if you care to.
Maybe a forum moderator can move my reply over there too.
Thanks.
I hope you didn't mind my putting the answers in blue mixed with your questions.
If you look at this thread, you can see our recent polishing efforts as well. Finally, got started`~

ciao

Late Oct, raining day in New Hampshire, after polishing work. Heading out for Virginia, to leave the Airstream there for the winter.
