Red face And so it begins - again!

We're going to pick up our "new" 1987 tomorrow. Just like when we got Esmerelda - first thing is safety, which means running gear. Before even bringing her off the lot we've outfitted her with new tires, repacked bearings & new brakes.

And so it begins - and goes. No telling what else...

Why do we do this? Just because its a blast to tow an Airstream around, I guess. And because we have an addiction to old aluminum!!

Good luck on your new love.

Have you still got the other trailer? You understand there will be a good deal of jealousy there, with the result that one will always be in need of something expensive, just to get your attention.

You also are aware, I am sure, that aluminium is bad for the brain.

Dave, I know it!

We had been watching her for a while - she was at Reliable RV in Springfield, MO. As we usually do, we let it be for a month or so. Then, while we were at the Branson Rally, we went to look. Spent the day, and ended up making a lowball offer, which they took.
(Probably helped that we gave them a list of what was wrong, what was needed, etc.). And, they just lost their Airstream salesman and the current salesman didn't know a lot about 'Streams. Heh heh - got her for a good price considering she's ready to use with perfect floors, no dents at all, no blemishes. Wait till you see her! $12,000. They wanted 15,900.

Leaving now to go get her,

Somehow I have a feeling that you'll enjoy this one as much as the last! And a dinette, to boot. Congrats!!!

Now don't forget. On your way back from Springfield, don't forget who is camping at Lake Catherine. ;-)

Esmerelda & Dulcinea Jealous Rivals?

Ray was just saying today that you folks need to come up to Petit Jean on your way home and we'll take the new trailer (Dulcinea is her name!) up there and camp with ya'll. It's backyard camping for us, but we need to see how the new girl acts once she's all set up in a campground.

Meanwhile, back at the farm, we've been playing around in the new one all day. She's sitting right beside Esmerelda. I wondered about the jealousy, and actually - you won't believe this.

Dulcinea's batteries won't take a charge. I walked into Ezzie to get something and for some reason, pushed the battery monitor. "Weak" lit up. Never had any battery problems with Ezzie, but she saw Dulcinea had new tires and heard us talking about new batteries and .....oh, boy.
