AC Replacement

This may be a duplicate post, the bb seems to be acting up.

I am wanting to replace the AC in my 89 Excella '32. It's a
old Coleman and it's on it's last leg. It might be a drastic
measure as I am sure it could be fixed, but I'd rather just
replace it and be done with it.

Any one have suggestions on what models fit in with minimal
problems? I am probably going to get someone to install it,
but I am sure I will buy it online though. Suggestions here
would be greatly appreciated since this could get messy.

I bought a Carrier unit for approximately 30% less than the LOWEST price I could get one from anyone else. It was close to $300 less than from one of the Airstream dealers online prices.
If you read the follwing thread you can get all of the information from it. I also have a step-by-step procedure posted on how to remove and reinstall an A/C. It is REALLY easy to replace. If you want to save yourself a bit more money, the DIY way is quick and easy.

I couldn't find the link in that thread to the "how to" instructions. I'd really
like to see that post. It looks pretty straight forward, I would just like to
avoid cutting any of the roof panels. I guess sealing is the trick.

So this model is a good choice?

I can send you the step-by-step procedure but yours will be a TON easier than mine. You will have no cutting to do. The only hassle you should have would be the removal of the old unit.
The old drain pan and the drain tube would be the only thing you may have to modify. You can use the same method I did for the drain tube modification. It is documented in my Members Photos section of the forums. There is also one other member that used a different method to modify theirs. Mine was using the 13.5k BTUh Carrier and his was using the 15k BTUh.
As for the link, that is the same price I got my A/C from Family RV Center in New Port Richey FL. If you have a larger Airstream I would recommend the 15k BTUh unit. I am not sure if the smaller unit would cool your trailer when it is really hot outside.
