These are Dexter chassis. They aren't one-off builds but they aren't available as an option on travel trailers nor will they be coming to a dealer near you.

The beefier frame comes with a higher base weight, 6500# axles, the appropriate coupler capacity, and a very stiff ride until it is properly loaded.

The bodies are 23' standard or front bedroom units depending on where our client needs the entry door. For the factory to install ribs in any non-standard location would be very inefficient since the wall panels are built in specific jigs. It is not all that efficient to leave off parts, such as windows, since our vehicles have to flow through each work station on the production line until they reach the water test station where they exit the building. We install additional ribs (standard factory or our extra heavy ones) per our engineers' designs. We also install headers across large openings and heavy aluminum backers for the later mounting of exhaust hoods and fans, overshelves, A/V equipment, etc.

No. The standard bolts are installed through the wing beams, flooring and wall channel. We sometimes separate the body from the chassis, remove the plywood floor and replace it with 1/4" aluminum deck plate (depending on the order and the budget). When we do so we go back in with stainless bolts and nuts and insulate the floor panels from the steel chassis to prevent corrosion. Basically, we ignore any structural strength the body may add to the overall trailer structure. Because of the major modifications we make to the body we essentially use the chassis as a platform trailer to carry our load plus the weight of the body.

The process is very similar to ordering a livery or funeral car. You can't walk into your local Lincoln or Cadillac dealer and buy a stretch limo or a hearse. Ford or GM builds cars specifically for these markets and sells them only through a couple of custom coach builders. In our case, most units are one-offs with very little repetition due to meeting individual customer requirements.
