Tekonsha P3 Brake Controller
I have a new P3 for sale for a Tundra, Sequoia, Tacoma, 4Runner and Lexus
I purchased this in October for my Tundra and ended up buying a new Dodge 3500 Cummins and would like to sell this unit. I purchased for $130 and would like to sell for $100. Please let me know if interested.
Thanks Jason

The original post is 2 years old. Don't expect the item is still available.

Had an '08 Tundra and just recently purchased a new '17 Tundra. The new one came with a built in controller that I removed and replaced with my old P-2. Toyota put in a time delayed controller and after just a few days of driving it, I tossed it. I wrote to Toyota and told them I thought going cheap with the controller was a mistake. Ford, GMC and Dodge all use proportional braking. No excuse for Toyota doing what they did.
Love my truck though in spite of having to do this work around. I still have the new one if anyone is interested. Just PM and I will respond.

How hard was it to pull the old controller out and put in a real one?

Had the P3 brake controller installed in my Tundra. I let Toyota service do this and they charged 0.6 hours to do the install. They fully understand the factory brake controller was inadequate and say about 60% of Tundra owners replace at their own cost.

The 2015 Tundra does not, but is pre-wired for a controller.
15 minute job.

took my 2017 1794 edition to dealer to install P3....said it couldn't be done that all kinds of error messages came up (something to do with analog program for truck brakes)
got proper connectors from etrailer so I don't know who is correct....etrailer or my dealer

It would take me 5 mins. just saying. I have a 2017 Limited with factory brake controller.
You gently remove the plastic trim. Unbolt the factory controller. Unplug the factory controller. Install the adapter harness (e-trailer has it) and plug that back into the P3.
You can either mount the P3 under the dash or buy an aftermarket kit which will located the P3 in the factory location.
Honest, this is a D.I.Y. I rate at a solid 1.
