SeeLevel Gauges
As long as you don't have metal tanks, these are one of the best tank monitors available and we know many of you already have them. We now carry them but only the most popular 709 series for now. We will stock the full line in a few weeks but the 709 seems to be the most popular aftermarket system.

I'm still using the old Argyle system. When my socks get wet I dump the tanks!

Thats great news Randy.
I've used them on the Ambassador. They were a sponsor for the project. Just like you ;-).
They work nicely durring my experimentation. If someone is building a tank and plans on using them, there are a few design considerations.

Tim,
I'd be interested in the considerations you're referring too. I suppose I could find it in one of your pod casts but must have missed it. Nobody mentioned anything in the first run of them.
Good one Excella!

suggestions on Micropulse
I, too, would be interested in the considerations or any installation suggestions prior to purchasing the Micropulse system. Is there a link to these?

My experience is limited to the SeeLevel gauges.
Some of the things to consider are that they are only for use on non metal tanks.
Also the the minimum tank height is about 4.5". Five inches would probably be better. Mine are around 4" tall and it makes them read a little funny. But functional. Ask for this special shorter tank sensor.
The sensor needs to be away from any metal. When I made my tank I made it fit just inside the frame rail to rail. Very tightly. I did not know about the sensors at the time I made the tank. So the sensor is within 1" of the metal. The metal can interfere with the sensor.
The only place I could put my sensor was on the side of the tank. As the tank fills the bottom sags out keeping water from going up the side of the tank for a while. So I get no readings until 66% full. Could be because of the sagging tank, or that my tank is 4" and the minimum sensor is 4.5".
If I knew the sensor requirements and the tank nature, I would have had a 5" cutout/notch made in the middle of the tank just for the sensor. This would allow it to be in the middle instead of the side(only place I had room away from the metal), and it would have kept it far from any metal frame work.
So, tank heights greater than 5", keep away from metal even by designing it in the tank, put in the center of the tank.
Lastly, follow the instructions and use tape to test the position before removing the permanent backing tape.

Great info. Thanks Tim.
Garnett makes a smaller sender called the "Junior" for shorter tanks.

At the time they sent me their shortest sender.
How short can the Junior be cut?

4 inches. I guess that 1/2 inch makes all the difference on some tanks. I had to call Cary at Garnett because I was thinking 3 inches but it's 4. The Junior sender is pretty new. I have some but nobody has inquired about them so that makes me think nobody knows they are available and come to find out, I forgot to list them too. Dang I hate when I do that.

I think thats the one they sent me.
The thing to keep in mind is they want the sensor be be 1/2" from the top and 1/2" from the bottom so you're not reading the edges of the top and bottom tank plates.
Thats why you cut the sensor to 4" but the tank needs to be 5" at minimum.
The shorty sensor is important for people who want to keep tanks inside the frame and not have it fall bellow the belly pan.

It could be they sent the Junior. The standard sender is 12 inches and the Junior is 6 inches (Before cutting)
