New Safari Sport Coming!!!

Hey gang,

Just got back from the 2007 A/S dealer meetings and saw the all new
SAFARI SPORT!!

17'...3,500 GVWR
22'...4,000 GVWR

European width narrowshell 7.5' Wide

Full width rear dry bath...GREAT!

This is a great unit for those wanting to get into Airstreaming but have a limited tow vehicle and a limited budget...

Base MSPR on the 17' is $29,985

Base MSRP on the 22' is $34,965

The only options on these units are:
13,500 BTU air
Microwave Convection
Patio Awning
Video Upgrade

I will try to get you the specs soon...

I have a lot of catching up to do after being gone for 4 days!!!

Am I to understand your post that this model does NOT include an awning? How much would that option add to the base cost ?

Other than that, all I can say is "Wow!" This is exciting.

When I bought my 30' Safari Bunk last year, the dealer and I discussed that with the demise of the 30' Safari Bunk, there really wasn't a "family" model in the Airstream brand. He told me then that Airstream was working on a series that would be similar to the "old Argosy" line, but wouldn't be painted and it would be targeted to families and first time buyers. I was very excited to hear that and am very excited to see that come to fruition.

I really am looking forward to seeing more families and younger buyers enter the Airstream family.

I've always loved the tambour doors. Think we'll them on any other models?

While different markets...

I think these will outsell the Basecamp 3 to 1, as they have the traditional Airstream look. I think the Euro body is cool, especially with the wrap windows.

Kudos to AS for bringing something to the market that will be a big seller!!

Finally! After looking at the new units, my main complaint was 'why make them so heavy"! Think vintage, Airstream! I can't wait to see what these look like inside.

Steph,

They do look great on the inside...the back bathroom is HUGE for this model...dry bath at that...all the bedding is convertible like what they used on the 19' 75th Ann. Edition...

You're gonna love it.
