New Lock

Finally........

Photo of the new lock kit that replaces the L-100 Special and the L-200 Special.

It fits 1966, 1967, 1968 and 1969 trailers.

Andy are you telling us there is now less unobtainium on the market these days? Awesome addition. Thank you for supplying a difficult part...

Very nice indeed!

I remember asking if there wasn't a lock like that available when i replaced my first L100 special. Not only does it look much better than the knob sticking out, the L100 just doesn't function very well in my experience.

Andy,

Do you have one for the 1970 trailers that is a significant upgrade to the original?

Thanks

Andy, Does this kit require any mod to the door or frame? I loke the more modern look of it. Ed

We have a different lock kit that replaces the KT lock.

Some door modification is necessary, however, but with a huge dollar savings.

Hmmm!

Any pictures of this replacement? Our 1971 has a lock in very sad condition, but the nearly $500 for the original replacement has always seemed better spent elsewhere.

Bart.

We do not have a direct replacement lock kit for the cast door frame that Airstream used from 1970 to 1972.

However, for someone that's handy with tools, such as yourself, you could use this same kit, but would have to make a couple of plates.

We did have a kit for the 70 to 72 trailers, that used an L-100 special, but
we withdrew it because of the extra steps that was necessary, that the average person did not want to get involved with.

Can you post a picture of it? I did not find a picture for 1970 on your website, only 1973-1977, pre 1970 and some with no year given.

You're saying that you can use this on a 71? What sort of "modifications" do you have to make, exactly?

I'm curious as well... it looks like the panel covers the old hole for the lock... do we need to enlarge/move the bolt hole?
