Originally posted by Phaedrus I grew up with "Airstream" meaning one vision/perception/appearance THAT thing aint it. It's like trying to make a Pan-Shovel shaft drive. It just don't happen. I dig you're new mini-camper, But it will never be an "Airstream", just an opinion.
In some ways I agree with you but I am sure they said the same thing 30 years ago when they started up the Argosy lines, then after that all the motorhomes, Argosy, Airstream, the current "white boxlike" pusher motorhomes and worse yet the current B-vans which in my opinion are the furthest from a true Airstream as you can get.
However, I like the Sprinter and have seen a few Sportsmobiles built out on it. My bet is that the Interstate will be a good seller.

my sentiments exactly. The Airstream club would not let Motorhomes in , even when they were aluminum skinned, riveted and looked 100% like the trailer they were built from. It took years for the MH to be accepted as an Airstream product.
Thats what makes progress sometimes painful.

Not sure about the AS model but both UPS and FedEx are using them. I was on I-40 going up the Eastern Continental divide at 45 mph (5'ver in tow ) and had several of them blow by me at 60+ so I don't think there are any major issues there.
Thank you for all your help with feedback on the new Airstream Interstate. Base M.S.R.P. will be in the low 70's and the options are listed on my website. As for the fold away table I have to call my factory rep to find out the storage location.
I have registered under my dealership name but forgot the password and had an different email at the time so i just started over.
Glad to assist. Even in spite of the few (primarily Sprinter-related) quirks, the Interstate and it's Westfalia brethren are both awesome, state-of-the-art vehicles; you will not be disappointed. Good Luck!!
I hadn't noticed that either, actually as long as it doesn't leak...It looks better than a lot of the others I have seen. I was on top of an American Eagle the other day and the vent caulking was a whole lot worse than that!
One thing I did notice about the Gulf Stream model MSRP $79920.00 as shown, in the Fall RV show in Atlantic City New Jersey is the design of the dinette in the rear. In order to get into the dinette you have to step up about 6”, which is disguised in all the promotional photos for obvious reasons. I am 5'10" 175lbs and I had a hard time getting seated in the dinette without hitting my head on the cabinets and ceiling. It is going to be much harder for a heavier or taller person to utilize the dinette. Also people at the show were not happy with the laminate they used on the interior, it showed signs of peeling (just might be a prototype). Let me know your input.
