New Airstream Inc. Website

Airstream Inc. should be getting they're new and improved website up and running within the next 30-45 days...it looks really great...a lot more user friendly.

I saw some of it at the meetings last week...they are going to keep it updated better...loaded with a lot of improvements...

I think they are really headed in the right direction.

They also had a lot of good things to say about the Forums, and what a good job it does getting info out about the Airstream product!

Are the Airstream Company forums coming back with the new website?

I doubt it. It appeared to fold last time due to a manpower issue. Even if they pay a group of people to run their forum, I doubt the company could find the right blend of expertise & enthusiasm the moderators on this site possess.

In my opinion, they should subsidize Andy R to be the voice of Airstream in an Internet forum. Andy has a proven track record of doing a fine job.

If nothing else, we could get a tagline with "Airstream" in it.

Thank you Tom. Word was that the previous Airstream site forum didn't have a critical mass of moderators and spam took over.

Airstream's commitment to designing a new website should include maintaining a regular webmaster who keeps it updated at least as often as your local garden society! If they follow previous patterns, there'll be a new Airstream model in 6 months that won't be posted on the site and their website will be forever behind until a new miraculous redesign is done again in 2 years. Here's hoping that they don't just bank on the Airstream cachet and really get out there and market their product! Even with gas prices slowing things down, I'd have to think the production line wouldn't be in the current lull if they did more than rest on their laurels. Rant over...

Gene, thank you so very much for your proactive seeking advice leading up to the business meetings last month! I know you want it to be right!!

The new basic Safaris are now featured on the Airstream Website, but they are still showing new models that have been discontinued. I guess Airstream figures that this "internet thing" will never catch on.

Rivet New Website

As a web professional, I will have to admit that the Airstream website has not been the greatest in the past. I look forward to the new version.

I would like to see a real effort towards making pdfs of owner’s and service manuals available. I realize that they would have to be scanned and would therefore be huge files. I would buy a CD or DVD even and have one printed. It’s better than nothing, which is what I have now.

There are many owners and service manuals available from Airstream, but, unfortunately, for sale.

Hi Andy,

I have looked on their website, and the oldest I have seen listed are 1998 ones. Not much help with my 83. It looks like second hand somewhere is my only option.

Thanks,

Vaugan

How about them Cubs?

I think it was mentioned in one of the early posts that the new Airstream.Com web site was going live in August. Post #2 says August 1.

Folks act as if they are shocked by the fact that Airstream has not fully utilized the web to it's full potential. It's been this way for at least the three or four years I've been lookin' at the Airstream site. It's slowly getting more info on it, but I agree, for a company with such a high profile lately, the website is somewhat lacking.

I don't see it. Same, "photos coming" and 2003 models shown under products, trailers. First page is new, other links are all old.

Imagine that. NO Changes..lol. Same ole' samle ole'. Wally was right....We don't change We just improve??....got it half right.

I wonder if the powers to be at AS understand or care?...This little complaint some of us have about their site being more of a distraction than a help most of the time is acutally costing them sales. They would denie that I am sure but I worked in the News/ advertising business all my life. If they had a web site that you could actually get up to date, pertenant information they would sell more trailers....and MORE PARTS. They need to have manuals and spec sheets on line. HELL...they could even charge for them. But they need them on line. Technical information on line for customers keeps customers happy. There are so few dealers who can acually service AS trailers that it becomes a real challenge to get parts and warrenty work done. On line info would go a lone way in making life easier for AS owners. AS owners are a unique bunch of do-it-your selfers. Thats great.....if ya have easy access info.

THEY NEED TO PUT ALL THE TRAILERS on their web site with up to date pricing and list ALL availible options. I know the powers to be would say....that the job of some saleperson....NO its not. If you put up to date info...the person wanting to buy can go to the saleman informed thus making the salemans job easier and the customer not feeling like HE is being lead to slaughter buy some sale guys who has a white shoe speal about how great AS products are.

OK enough of my BS....AS are you listening?????

Sounds to me these questions need to be directed to Airstream, Inc. direct...AIRForums has nothing to do with Airstream's website or its development.

Airstream, Inc. Contacts

Maybe with everybody questioning them, it will show them how valuable the current information is...or is missed.
