Looks sharp. Is that a satin like bedspread fabric? Can you include a closer shot of valance and dinette fabric and pillows? I want to see more, please.

More Photos

Ask and you shall receive!!!

Here ya go Wheel Interested!

The bedspread is a little like satin...they have also incorporated some suede like material in the dinette and other places.

Thanks Gene, that is pretty. I like the mix of textures and the colors go very well with the new color hardware with that patina.

The wood floor

Gene, Love the wood flooring with that combo as well. We just had the carpet and vinyl taken out of our Classic and replaced it with a faux wood flooring installed at an angle. It not only looks great but will be easier to maintain. This new color combo should be a winner for Airstream and you dealers. Thanks for the additional pictures. Good luck.

I think the decision to use multiple fabrics is a great idea...cloth...satin leather...suede...WOW!

The satin is unbelieveably ugly and not practical. The suede too (really just velour - 1980's flashback). The mixed fabrics are a nice look, but choice of fabrics need work. Anyone who travels with a pet would never want the "suede"! Also, the "wood flooring" is sheet vinyl - looks great and cleans up nice, but isn't wood at all.

My guess is the "satin" is probably polished cotton or some other durable material. The suede is probably a faux suede that is more condusive to the RV lifestyle and the leather is probably the ultra leather that is put in most RV's today. These materials are sturdier and easier to care for than the real thing.

Just a guess, could be wrong.

It is interesting that you cannot find out specifics about fabrics in a product that can cost up to $100K. I recently purchased a 2007 and had to look everywhere for closeup photos of fabrics. Seems like AS should have them on the website.

Pete,

The Mothership provides us dealers with fabric samples of each interior...including the ultra leather and such...I agree with Minnie...it is not true Satin...just a polished cotton...and we all know that everybody is not going to like it....that is why there are other choices...and upholstery shops!

I think it looks fine for those who want a dressy style while camping, but I keep waiting for a real "campers" interior, the camper that will wear with kids and dogs and stand up to both indoor and outdoor activities. It doesn't have to be buffalo checks and hunter green. Give us unspottable patterns, hardy fabrics, and sweepable floors. That or a real beach-swept-clean look that also would take the hard use of family. With all the young people turning to camping, this look should be popular. And some of us older Airstreamers also don't enjoy the looks of satins and suedes for vacation use but wish for a more "campy," casual interior. Just my thoughts, ~G

Gene,

Thanks for the input. I personally think that AS dealers are the best! We have owned four new Airstreams and really appreciate our dealers and everything they do to help us out - Holiday in Albuquerque and Colonial.

I agree M&G...not my style either...but still classy for someone...I wonder what a Classic would like like with some of the more durable Safari looking interiors?

Pete,

Don't really know the guys at Holiday, but John and Jim that own Colonial are #1 guys in my book! Look forward to visiting with them every year at the dealer meetings.

Wouldn't necessarily be a Classic now would it?

The ultra leather is really a nice durable covering, soft and comfortable but wipes clean. I plan on having a variety of color schemes to change out for seasons or whim. Change the spread, the pillows and dishes and you have another look. I already have some "cast iron" ideas for man and his best friend accoutrements and some ideas for myself only to "pamper" on special holiday. I think the wood and solid counter will take hits better than laminate and edges or perhaps be more easily repaired.
