Kentucky finally enters the 21st Century

Why did it take so long?

Oh well, for some reason the link won't go to the search result on the Airstream Site.

Kentucky has their first Airstream Dealership in Elsmere, Ky. (Northern Kentucky just outside of Erlanger, KY. and across the Ohio River from Cincinnati).

Just a FYI for those of you in this area.

Sorry

Didn't mean to step on your toes. I grew up near there and have fond memories.
Do you know why the top deck of the I-75 bridge is the southbound?
So all the guys going home to Kentucky can drop their shoes off to the guys going to work in Ohio.

Did anyone notice on Airstream's website that a Motorhome is called a "MOHO"?

Hmm, it seems that the only good thing to come out of Ohio is I75 South.

...oh, and Skyline Chili.

You forgot these:
1. Seven US presidents
2. An empty bus

Yeah, but I left as soon as I knew better.
That was in 1975.

I like Cincinnati. Love the Mt. Adams area. A lot of great bars up there.

Mt. Adams! Great place. Cincinnati isn't really like the rest of Ohio. Love the hills and the river. My grandfather helped build the reservoir in Eden Park.

Hey now, no slamming Cincy! Happens to be a great place to raise a family. Well, not Cincy proper. We live in Colerain Township on the northwest side of the city. My Dad's family has lived in this area for going on 150 years! When I was little, it was nothing but orchards and farms. So many of the local farms have given way to subdivisions full of "trophy homes". We happen to be the exception to the rule. We have quite a few acres that we lease out to another local to cut hay for his cows! Those subdivisioners just love it when his cows roll the fence to graze on their finely manicured lawns!
We're doing a major remodel to the old farmhouse that dates back to at least 1830, have several vintage cars and last, but not least, our 1970 Trade Wind.

We may not be as trendy as those on the left or east coast but most in Cincy tend to be grounded, level-headed and extremely loyal!

Herm and Debbie,

All in jest.
Most of my friends lived in houses as old as yours. Some without running water or indoor plumbing. It was the best childhood anyone can imagine. Mom chased all the kids out of the house in the morning and told us not to come back until suppertime. We were liberated.

Back when I was a kid in the 60's, my family used to drive from Lexington up to Cincy to eat at a German restaurant we really liked. Mecklenburg’s or something like that. I have no idea if that place still exists or where about it was but, the food was excellent.

Some of the best October fests are in the Cincy/Covington area too.

My favorite meal was Christmas dinner at the Central Oyster House. I know it moved about 30 years ago, but don't know if it is still in business.
Also La Maisonette, great french cuisine.

Smile Good ol' Cinci

This former Speedway, IN Hoosier spent six years in Cincinnati. Wrecked my brain cells--all that beer.

We finally went back to Cincinnati after 35 years for a visit last Spring to visit some former Minnesotans at that. The University of Cincinnati campus seemed to be under total reconstruction. It certainly wasn't the same anymore. All the places we lived around campus were still there.

Hey David,

Were you there during the Nixon Administration? Maybe we were classmates?

Nope

Don,

I was there in the College of Design, Architecture, Art & Planning from 1962 to 1968. By the time the election rolled around I was in Newport, RI and I threw my Humphrey/Nixon absentee ballot in the chit can. So I guess I wasn't there during the Nixon years.
