Ebay Scams Posing as Airstream Dealers

BUYER BEWARE

We have been watching several ebay auctions in the past few weeks that are scams. The people are selling Airstreams at very attractive low low prices (example a 2001 Bambi that retails for $23,000 for $5,300) They are using our photos and our vin#'s from our website. We are currently working with Ebay to put an end to this. At this time we do have three Ebay auctions running under our only Airstream Ebay name (colonialairstream), yes they are real. There has been confusion and frustration from customers who have been scammed by these people posing as us and we are very sad that someone out there is trying to steal from our fellow Airstreamers. Please be careful and if a deal seems too good to be true, it probalby is.

If they are using your member name as the seller of these scam auctions, apparently they have your personnel account info. Jeff

He didn't say they were using his member name, only that they had stolen their photos and vin#s. As we know, they copy the photos and text whole from an auction and then try to resell the item (which they don't have and never had) for cheap hoping to get a quick payment before they are discovered.

This has been a regular epidemic on ebay the last few weeks!

Maybe just the photos and discriptions were enough to pose as (colonialairstream). Jeff

One customer said that the fake seller had mentioned they were Colonial Airstream in an email after their initial inquiry.

You have to be one low-down scumbag piece of dog dirt to do something like this. Brooke and I have been looking for a nice used horse trailer with living quarters. We checked Ebay and there was this really nice 2003 trailer, which should have been about $27,000, but was being sold for $7,500. Wouldn't it be karma if whoever is doing this ends up getting run over by an RV? By the way, Patrick, do you guys carry horse trailers? Preferably 3-horse, slant-load with a weekender package.
