Contributors for new Airstream magazine

Hi all,

This is an advance notice for members of this forum -- in a week or two we will be formally announcing the launch of a new quarterly Airstream lifestyle magazine, and will be seeking paid freelance contributors (writers, photographers, editors).

This magazine will begin publication in Summer, 2004. It will be officially sanctioned by Airstream Corporation and will run about 64 pages, with minimal advertising. A lot more detail will be available in the formal announcement and via our upcoming website.

Authors and photographers interested in getting an advance copy of the "Editorial Guidelines" should PM me or write to editor at airstreamlife.com (replace "at" with "@").

Thanks and stayed tuned!

May we inquire, what other publications you have published?

Oh, I didn't mean to become the source of mystery! Airstream Life is the star, not me!

OK, a little more info. You know me as "rluhr" on the forum. I'm working closely with Airstream to develop and launch this publication. My prior publications include several business-to-business newsletters which were so boring & technical that you would never have heard of them, unless you were in wireless, neurology, healthcare information systems, etc.

In the next couple of weeks you'll see a press release and a website with much more info, including how to subscribe and get an early-bird discount. Already the response has been tremendous and that's a good sign that the magazine will be a big success. I hope everyone will consider subscribing, and I promise that everyone on the launch team will do their best to deliver you a great magazine!

When reading this article, mentioned today in the thread Airstream sighting--AZ Star today, I thought this would be the exact type of article I'd like to see as a regular feature in each issue of Airstream Life.

By adding a few more pictures than this article offers, and giving readers a similar length story, I think it would be a great way to get reader's juices flowing with ideas for new directions in decoration, and how AS's can be used for way more than just vacations in today's world; imagine a new story each issue that highlights neat people who've created guest houses, backyard offices, and even harnassed their trailers as sources of revenue (just look at Shady Dell) -- this is they kind of regular feature that I think would make Airstream Life constantly dynamic from one issue to the next, and will (at the very least) ensure that I'm a charter member from issue no. 1!

I do some tech write ups and product reviews for a 4x4 web site.
www.ck5.com

The CTM and Dic Brake is mine on the front and there are several others in the Tech and product review forum. Just look for the Tan truck and it's probably me.

I am in the middle of a full frame off restoration and would be interested in doing some product reviews and such.

PM me about details.

I'd be happy to model for your first edition. Perhaps "The Airstream Man of the Month" centerfold. With the right lighting, a picture of me lounging on the gaucho could be quite appealing.

Hey, even appalling sells now days. I'm the complete package though, I also have the brains to go with my looks. Here's proof, this is me when I was 12 yrs old graduating from 3rd grade.

Very interested in contributing, I'm a photographer/graphic designer. Just sent you an email, but in case it gets lost among the spam, I'm posting here. My Wife and I are currently on a year long road trip in a restored '83 310 Motorhome. Road trip photos can be found on my site.

Coming soon ...

I really appreciate your interest in Airstream Life!

Editorial Guidelines and Photo Guidelines have been sent to everyone who asked as of 9 pm EST 2/16/04. If I missed you, please PM me again! (59Toaster, did I get you?) And please give me an email address in your PM since the Editorial Guidelines are a Word document, and I can't send attachments via PM.

Bruno: Airstream Life will be offered (in English) in North America and Europe. We don't have European postage rates worked out yet, but PM or email us later this month.

Tin Hut: Lovely photo -- looks just like me at that age. We will contact you about the centerfold ... someday ...

Davydd and everyone else: We hope to have the website up this week but don't hold me to it. In any case, we will be offering "early bird" discount subscriptions at the Florida State Rally ($6 off the regular rate).
