FINALLY a wireless back-up monitor system in color for travel trailers. No wires needed between the camera and monitor.
The camera mounts on the license plate bracket and ties into the back-up OR license plate light circuit. It's so small no one will realize it's there. The monitor is placed on the tow vehicle dash and plugs into the 12 volt outlet or cigarette lighter.
We recommend that you tie the camera into the license plate light circuit.
When traveling, turn your parking lights on, so that you can continuously monitor who is behind you. When you're ready to back up, the monitor is still working.
When you park, shut the lights off and you will not have any battery drain.
We tested this system by having the camera 150 feet away from the monitor, certainly far greater distance than from the dash of your tow vehicle to the license plate on the trailer. The monitor displayed a perfect picture.
Christmas special, $139.95, plus shipping.
Best new safety item since load equalizing hitches.

Do you mean to drive with your headlights on instead of your parking lights? pj

In the day time, you can use your parking lights or headlights.
At night time, best you use your headlights.

It is illegal in California to drive at any time with only parking lights on. http://www.chp.ca.gov/html/militarydrivers.html. It is best to use your headlights all the time--just took a driving class and don't ask why.pj

thanks for the product info andy...
i've been looking for this sort of product a while...
150 ft would be GREAT, but according to the vr-3 website...
transmission is 9 meters, about 19 feet...
was your testing 'open space' or through the trailer/tv...
perhaps an upgraded model?
i need 55-60 ft.
cheers

I have one; I haven't tested it on the road yet. It dose transmit from the inside of the trailer to the monitor. I soldered a 12 volt plug in and use the voltage in the trailer. I think I may cut off the license plate mount and a little Velcro will let it be used for many things. Security camera, ball alignment camera and so on. I plan to attach in the back window so it is out of the weather. I may open the unit and add a different antenna. I did get some interference at about 35 feet and 150 feet would be on the far side of the range. Pep boys have the units for $99.00 after rebate. I will bring it to Topsail.
BTW you don't want the 2 button model the one I have has power, contrast, brightness, and 4 postion image flip so 4 buttons.
