Albuquerque Repair experience ??
Does anyone have experience with repair work done by Holiday Travel Trailer in Albuquerque?
We have our Classic there, and we need to get some axle or wheel repair. Our curb front tire vibrates until it makes flat spots on the tire - looks like brake lockup bands. It also vibrates the door hinge pin up, and I think it broke the fresh water drain value for a second time.
Replaced the tire, but same thing is happening again. There's no obvious damage underneath, and the shock seems ok. When riding along side at 70 mph, we couldn't see anything that looked bad - wiggle, vibration,...
So we need someone who really knows the way the wheels should work.

Your trailer should be under warranty coverage. Is Holiday Travel Trailer an Airstream dealer?

Yes, according to the Airstream home page, for sales, service, and parts.

I'm a little familier with them - they are good folks. However, they have only been an Airstream dealer for a year or two.
They have been a small family trailer dealer for a long time and have a very good reputation.

I would ask them if they are familiar with the jacking procedure for an A/S.

Gus, How have you resolved this issue? I think I had much the same thing on my unit. I finally took the hub, wheel, and new tire to a competent mechanic. He ballanced the entire assembly on his spin ballancer. Before doing the entire assembly he spun the hub. It was over six ounces out of ballance.
Everything works well now, with everything ballances. I even use the centramatics.

The folks at Holiday are great. We bought an Airstream from them and they have been super. They have been honest, fair and good as their word. They did the few 'fixes' we needed on our trailer. They did them on time and did them right - no need to get anything done a second time. I highly recommend them.
We have talked with several people who have had Airstream repair work done there and have heard only good things. The head mechanic (I think his name is Andrew) went to Airstream for classes - and now is trained to do repair work on the skin.
They may be small - but I'll trade good, honest service for size anytime.
Hope this helps.

Randy has it at N Dallas RV. He is looking into the entire balance and alignment problem.
I inspected the tires, and not a single tire had a weight on it. I've never seen that before.
When we replaced the tire that had the wierd wear, Goodyear spun balanced the tire, and it has a weight on it now.
It is only on the curb side. The front tire has the flat spots like brake lock. The rear tire is wearing rapidly on the inside AND outside edges, but not evenly. We have made sure of the 65 psi inflation. We even carry a compressor with us to check each morning.
Will wait to see what Randy discovers.
