Wheel - we agree with you regarding the microwave. We actually tried to not have it installed, but the unit we wanted already had it installed at the factory.

I know another dealer out in Oregon have replaced the installed microwave with a smaller one. This is something we might do eventually.

Other than that, we could not be happier with our little unit. Had some friends over the other day and it fit four people comfortably.

front bed

My husband is quite interested in the Sport 16 because he's tall and he can stand up inside of this one. I'm just wondering about the dinette area because the cushions in the one we looked at are already coming apart (frayed/pulled on the front edges, and the Velcro on the bottom is torn off). The main concern though is the narrower width of the back cushions. Is the bed different heights when it's made up?? Or am I missing something?

If you look at the picture the table top rests upon the seat giving the thinner back cushions a height comparable to the seat cushions that rest on the bases.

On the Classic FB end dinette models the thick table on top of the seat bases actually makes the middle section higher with the thick back cushions and you wind up hyperextended in the middle of your back. But that does not appear to be a problem with the formica tables and thinner back cushions.

Some people add a foam mattress pad before making up the bed as well.

Has anyone else purchased a 16 sport? Are you happy with it?

We just brought home our 2010 16' Sport on Saturday. Fortunately we were able to find one in excellent condition only 3 hours away so we were not risking an unearthly amount had we gone and it not been as described. We were extremely happy with the floorplan with 2 sleeping areas, mini kitchen area, tv, and bath. Just enough for our short weekend trips, easy to load, easy to tow. We haven't taken a trip yet, we're anxious. But as soon as we got it home I began reading the posts about rock guards - oh great, another new expense I hadn't factored in. We'll have to take it to the nearest dealer another 4 hours away to get them installed and of course they are a special order item and $300 each and $300 to install...and I thought I had researched it ALL after month's of a never-ending quest. However, I love the little bugger and it's quite an eye-catcher. Ready to take it on it's maiden voyage, just afraid now to untrack it till we get the rock guards installed. This may be a whole new place to plow money but hey - what a way to figure it out...they are like finding a needle in a haystack and quite a novelty. Hope we enjoy it, at least when we travel I'll have my own bed. Parking it is another issue, our covered parking wound up 1' short due to the height of the a/c unit...what's worse than having a teenager to support. LOL
