1986 Sovereign - Service Manual & Owners Manual
Hello all! I've been reading posts for some weeks now. Finally, I have something to say.....I live in OH and on June 1, I am flying to Ft. Myers, FL to view and probably purchase my first Airstream, this being a 1986 31' Sovereign. It looks like a dandy and I had Steve Ruth (P&S) check out the 34 pictures posted with the ad and he says it's a good deal at $10500.
Two things: 1. I'm in need of the service and owners manual, and 2. It has a rear double bed that I want to change to twins which I will modify to be a king. I see that someone is selling a brand new set of twin matts for $400 (still in plastic) - good deal or no? Shall I do this modification myself or have P&S do it or Jackson Center (both in my state)?
I CAN'T WAIT TO SEE/BUY/USE MY NEW AIRSTREAM! Good bye pop-up camper! WAHOOOOOOO!

I am so sad - the guy's brother sold the camper this morning even though he was told it was sold to me. Now I have a ticket to FL and nothing to see (sniff).

It is true - I finally found one - flew to Seattle and purchased trailer and tow vehicle - drove it home 2,801 miles in 8 days, 7 nights - home in my drive way now!

Fate just works well some times...

Look forward to seeing you some day on the road. I hope we can give you a tour of the bullet you missed, even if it is a "shot" we are willing to take. Lots of problems to fix but life is a journey and not a destination... I have learned so much so far. Never a dull moment with an older AS!!!!
Matt
