General Airstream Question

We are looking at buying a used Airstream. We've never owned one we heard under some conditions Airstreams are prone to sweating on the inside. Is this a problem with Airstreams?

It's not really sweating, but condensation when humid air is in contact with a cool surface. Like your bathroom window at home after a shower in the winter.

We have never had a problem, but we do keep humidity levels low by cracking a window, even in cool weather.

I am not sure if this problem is unique to Airstream. Out tent did it if closed up tight as well.

First off, welcome to the Forums. We're glad to have you with us.

As to your question, we have spent almost 700 nights in our 2005 25FB in all types of weather condition in all parts of the country. We have never seen the slightest interior sweating. Our Airstream has the mouse hair/vinyl interior.

If you go camping with outdoor temps in the 20s or lower, yes.

Yes it will happen if you heat the inside and it is cold on the outside, We crank open the roof vent a bit and dont have a problem. I think all trailers do this, our friends with a SOB see it on the windows before we notice it in ours. Dont let this stop you from buying.

I never noticed it in below zero temps. You have to crack a vent but I've been cozy in th AS when it was well below 0 and I have a CDD. Don't let it sop you from buying a AS.
