Any ideas for bike racks on a Bambi?

I would like to be able to bring a couple of bikes on my 16' 04 Bambi CCD. Does anyone have any ideas about how to do this? I am still rather new to owning an Airstream and have never owned any kind of trailer. Thanks for the input.

Thumbs up Welcome to the forums!!!

Most agree, it is not a good idea to add a bike rack to the back of your trailer...to much bouncing around stresses the frame.

So that leaves:
1) between the trailer and tow vehicle
2) in the trailer or TV
3) on top of the TV
4) on top of the trailer (not practical - too high, nothing to attach to)
5) on the front of the TV

To date, we have taken our bikes either in the trailer or TV with "creative packing", but will probably be adding a rack to the front of our TV next spring.

There are lots of differnet ideas here on the forums, perform a search for bike rack for some others.

Good luck with whatever you decide to do ~

Shari

InsideOut is correct -- it isn't recommended to hang any thing on the trailer. I installed a front frame reciever (Draw-tite) and use a Drawtite three bike rack that I remove when we get home. If that is your choice, the new Drawtite recievers have an extra hole for a new "J-Pin" locking pin. It is GREAT. It doesn't minimize the sway of the rack inside the reciever, it absolutely STOPS it! Check out the drawtite web site for all three.

Thank you. I'll check out the Draw-tite website. That sounds like a great solution. We are looking at a hitch-type bike rack for the TV, as well. Any suggestions?
