Awning Tip

Safari owners,
Do you find it difficult to access the locking wheels on your Zip-Dee awning?

Instead of using the awning pull down rod to turn the wheels, buy a small aluminum step ladder and turn the wheels by hand.

I found a two step aluminum "A" frame ladder, with an Airstream blue top step at Home Depot. It weighs nothing and fits easily in your rear storage compartment. It looks like it is a custom accessory.

The ladder makes take down and storage a breeze. Especially when you are trying to do a quick lock down because of an approaching storm.

Jack

Good tip Jack. A couple that we travel with some times saw me standing on a upside down bucket reaching those wheels. They went & bought me a two step latter as a gift. It works well & is alot safer.

Great idea Jack. I have the exact same ladder and people have asked if it is an Airstream accessory.

Awning tip

We carry an extra ice chest in the event of a ref. problem or picking up frozen items from the store. The ice chest works fine to stand on in order to turn wheels on awning.
