Where are the wires?

Can anyone tell me where the 110v AC wiring is located in the ceiling of a 1966 22' Safari?

We're working to reinforce the structure in the area where the air conditoner mounts, and we don't want to damage any wiring by mistake.

We've found the wire that supplies the air conditioner, and we're treating that with respect.

There is another wire loop (no ends visible) at the forward end of the opening in the ceiling. From looking at the schematic in the Airstream owner's manual, that might be a 12v. wire for a vent fan (not installed).

Is there someone out there who has had the interior skin off a '66 Safari?

in my 67 the 12V and 110V wires have different colored lettering on them - one is green, one is black.

Wish I knew off the top of my head, but hopefully that's enough information for you to figure out what your rogue loop is channeling.

Once we determined that wire loop hadn't been damaged, we just left it where it was. It had remained as it was since 1966 and everything was working, so we just left it there.

Thanks for your help.

Hi there, where did you find the wire??

I am looking to install a AC in the middle vent hole. I don't see the wire.

I did install a Fantastic Fan in the front and rear vent holes. Did not see any wire ends while in there.

For which trailer?
The location is a set distance from rib 0, and varies from model to model.

That was so long ago, I don't remember. We used the wire that powered the original air conditioner for the new one, and it's working fine.

Good luck with your project.
