whatever you do DON'T throw anything away... I made the mistake of tossing the moldy awning w/out checking for metal parts etc that could have been used/sold... there are a lot of items you might think trash & another streamer may need/want (we are fixing up our 68 safari find... LUVIT)

Think back, think hard, think about you're worst night ever being sick. Now put that night in a campground. You run for the restroom, you think you might even make it.
Someone else is already in there and the door is locked..... Now try looking for clean leaves in the dark. You would pray right then for the Airstream gods to give you your bathroom back.

I thought: "This must be the guy with the five gallon bucket of kitty litter."

Eastern South Dakota is very pretty with hills, rivers, and trees.

so we all made it home safe and sound. i will post some pics up as soon as i can. got home later sat night. so today i decided i want to tear apart some of the floor and belly pan to see how much rust is on the frame. much to my suprise all i can see is that one little section where teh step is. whew. so i need to get me abotu a 4 inch peice of heavy duty steel and weld her in. i also need the one brace tha the step slides on. i checked inland rv and there is for 68 and newer. does anyone make that brace?

Congrats on getting it home safe. I had the same problem around my step, and I had a local guy come weld in a fix for it. I don't know if yours is broken in a different place and needs something special, but my guy just used some stuff he had on hand to fix mine.

I don't know if this is different for different kinds of torsion bars, we'll probably need to know what kind you have exactly, but mine needed to be greased where they fit into the hitch head.
