I just found a wonderful Safari after searching since April.. The interior looks to be in good shape given it's age, but I predict I'll be replacing the floor and a few other parts. Right now I'm looking for all the manuals that would have come with the Airstream. They could not be located when we looked at it, so we are without instructions on how to use all of the systems in the trailer. If anyone could help me find, copy, or send me the information I'd be grateful.
Thanks
Deborah
Welcome to the forums and congrats on your '66 Safari. I've owned mine for only about a month and have it pretty much gutted. I found two manuals in my trailer but of course one is for a '65 Caravel and the other is for a '67 Safari. I'm guessing the latter would be the most help to you. I could try copying the pertinent pages at work tomorrow and send you the copies if you think that would help. If this is your first foray into LP systems and whatnot, I would advise you to find the nearest ruputable RV dealer and have them inspect your Safari's systems. If the sytems are in working order, the techicians could show you correct operating procedures. There's also the chance of an Airstreamer in your vicinity with the necessary skills.
Congratulations all of you 66 Safari owners! I just love mine.
I have a manual from a 66 Overlander and can make copies of it for you, or, just start asking questions, posting pics and searching on the forums and you will find all of your questions will be answered.

Thanks to all who replied. I have downloaded the Overlander manual from the library and plan to buy the one available from Airstream. I'm looking forward to restoring the Safari and will be checking in frequently to see what I should be doing. Thanks again.
