The Bunny,
Great looking curtains!
So, who doesn't wear socks with their flip flops?

Post number 54 on this thread....I like it because you can brush it on. My brother, (he owned a door shop back in the 80's), said that it is a good product because it's 2nd coat will "melt" into the last. Just a light sanding, wipe down and brush on that next layer.

Today I picked up the newly upholstered cushsions for the sofa. The shop did a very nice job. PM, I cut the last two panels for the pantry. Pulled the panels back out and stained them.

Also got a photo of the Albino squirrel who lives in the oak trees across the street....on the internet, I found that there is an "Albino Squirrel Preservation Society"...

Congratulations Rex and THE Bunny!! That is one clean, crisp look! And, it looks comfortable, too.

You've got me second guessing our decision to restore our '73 to original.....

Me and the Boys and yet another 70's shag rug. The other rug was a bit too small. Next on the list are the cone-shaped chrome reading lights for the bulk head.

Nice, hope the weather is warm for you, it may snow here tonight in Shasta Lake City.

It's been many years since I have gone to the Islands. In 1979, I was there, playing in a Rugby tournament, hosted by the Hawaii Harlequins. I was young, and yes we had fun!

In the 90's I went over to Hawaii to teach some basic firefighter classes to the US Army. We stayed in Hilo on the Big Island for a week, class was located at Pohakloa training area, and than a week at Schofield barracks in Oahu.

I would like to take my vintage airstream to the....
carnival in 2012 in Hawaii. I wonder what it would cost to ship the Old Girl?

Today I removed a small section of Allure flooring and replaced with diamond plate in the area where the food pantry is going. Also put another coat of stain on the two remaining panels. Still doing research and looking for ideas for making a diner booth on the street side mid-section.

Socks keep the snow out of the flip flops!
Thanks for the stain info.
Put any more diamondplate in there and you two will have to wear shades.
Stay warm

Today I continued working on the pantry cabinet. I recycled the original pantry door frame. (had to re-size), and most of the aluminum used for the shelves. Make sure you keep all of the aluminum framing, even if your not going to restore to the origninal design.

Today the Bunny and I went for a bicycle ride on the Sacramento River Trail in Redding CA. 14 mile round trip from Keswick Dam trail head to the Mt. Shasta Mall, (inside Harley Bike Show today).

The city of Redding just completed a new section of trail from the Sundial bridge across the river to the east side of Redding. So it was our first time on the new section. Nice day, but a little bit cold. Photos of the sundial bridge and the peace labyrinth.

If you're ever in the Redding area, take the time to stop and walk across the sundial bridge, nice way to take a break from a long road trip.

Today I will be starting on the "Diner" project. I think I may use some 1/4" plywood to Mock-up the sides of the two benches. If it looks and fits right, than I'll build out of Red Birch hardwood.

I have looked at many front end dinettes on this forum, but haven't come across any mid-ship custom built diner's. I may have missed a thread...if you have seen any on this forum, or any other web sites, please pass this information on to me.

More photos of yesterday's bike ride.....

Nice pics, Rex! I'm envious of your weather... Saturday we had another sloppy snowfall, then yesterday gloomy skies and we went to the funeral of my old friend and favorite plumber. I hope I can remember all he taught me....

About your center dinette, it occurred to me that many pop-ups have center dinettes that drop down to form a bed and have storage under the benches. You could take a run to about any RV dealer that has pop-up campers and take some quick measurements, pics, etc. You could even check them out for the "comfort" level of the seating. Just a suggestion.

Thanks for the tip, Mr. Drift... sorry about the passing of your plumber friend.

Today I did some banking and than stopped by the book store...there I found a couple of books on cabinets, and "Built-in" kitchen dining areas.

Once I got home, I cut out a mock-up side section, (see photo's), also did some finish work on the pantry shelves. Taking this project slow, I want to make sure the design is going to work for the Bunny and I.

It's a good thing that I have alot of scrap lunber/plywood to use as mock-ups.

Today I started building the bench seats out of Red Birch for the Diner. I have 7 linear feet to work with, so each bench seat will be 28" long, or 1/3 of the area for each seat, and 1/3 of the area for our feet.

I had to go to Home Depot to buy some pocket screws and HF for two more wood clamps. The bench will be 28" long x 38" high, with a 18" high seat. The storage area below the seat will be Jacky and Speedy's custom sleepng area.

Yes...I think that is the brand name of the guide. Wasn't much money and works great. Do you have the same item?

Here's a close up of the pocket guide....
