Power loss.

Newbie question.
1973 landyacht Lost interior lights 12 volt. I was plugged into shore power they were working fine and then just went out. I do not have a battery connected. The AC works and 110 outlets.
Is there a 12 volt fuse panel somewhere??
Thanks
Jeff

12v

Mine is in the road side rear compartment, converter and fuse panel.

Some converters "require" a battery and some recommend one but not necessary.

The fuse panel is in the converter??
I found that I wasn't sure if there was another spot.
Thanks.

converter

If you have the original Univolt converter it is of early design and known to boil batteries the converter may have failed or one of the 50 amp (2) fuses blown.

I would recommend you replace the Univolt with a converter that has a 3 stage charger
I replaced mine with a 55amp Progressive Dynamics converter.
There are several good 3 stage charging converters out there to chose from.
I think the WFCO converters are also a good choice.

Good site to visit.

Hey Jeff, good move to post here IMO. FYI, the search box above with the blue border works great, giving Google-powered results from within AirForums.com. Here are some results for "Univolt converter:"

. . . which will give you plenty of reading material on the subject, in a variety of threads.

Good luck!

I have recently posted on this same problem. My 66 lights and 12v stuff went off when my wife tried to turn on one of the old ceiling lights. I think she turned the switch the wrong way, it shorted out.
I looked everywhere for a fuse- supposed to be 30amp. Have not yet found one.
I replaced the 8amp in the rear access panel, which looked suspicious, but nothing happened. The converter works, as I hear it hum. All shore power items on AC work too.
Yesterday it was recommended I look at the light itself as it may have an inline fuse in the ceiling somewhere near it. Have not yet done this.
I also took out the shelf in the bathroom closet above the converter grabbed the white wire to see where it went and that was of no help.
My owners manual is wrong-- it says the trailer has a screw in home tpe fuse, 40 amp somewhere. The diagram, is wrong too. Guess Airstream had a generic manual they gave with the trailer that was never updated back then.
