KT Lock help

Hi there, on my 72 sovereign I of course have a KT Lock. It needs help and so do I. I have bought a few parts a while back and am just getting around to putting it all together. The pictures that ODMRV and VTS have posted(which are the same) seem upside down and do not make sense to me whatsoever. Maybe you streamers can help. I know I have to cut the new tumbler so it can work with the locking shaft, but does the shaft need to be modified, do I need ball and springs, and how in the heck do you put the spring on the handle shaft?? I know I need to get the pins for the handle and the shaft as the shaft is new and needs to be drilled for the pins. Any help would be lovely. Thanks in advance.

OR... has anyone gotten a different lock so they didn’t have to worry about any of this?? I have a deadbolt but would still like to have a handle/lock.

By the way their is a small ball and spring that goes behind the allen head screw in the end of lock.

Thank you very much for the pics. That does help. I removed the Allen head and sure enough there was not a ball and spring. Are there 2 sets of ball and springs? I only have 1 Allen but notice right below it there’s a spot for possibly another?..

My lock only has one ball and spring.
